Show Council Ponders Main Street Horse Riding The Ephraim City Council took a look at a potentially serious problem at its meeting meetIng meeting meet- meet Ing last Monday night in the council chambers It was noted that persons who ride horses down Main Street In Ephraim present a serious hazard and a serious traffic accident could be bethere- bethere the re re- re sult It was decided to make an appeal to those who own horses to use the city's other streets for their riding excursions and stay off the Main Street The council also decided to change the starting time of their meetings for the summer Starting Starling time was moved back to 8 pm p.m. for the next few months It was pointed out that the new loop lighting system has now been turned on This system system system tem was erected on the loop running around Snow College It goes up Center Street to toI I Fourth East and then over to College Avenue back to the main highway The materials for the project were furnished by the State of Utah at a cost of Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim City erected the lights as Its part of the project The 1969 up clean-up program for Ephraim was probed It was decided to form committees Immediately and to have a kickoff kick kick- off beautification day In the very near future It was reported that a committee committee committee com com- composed of Ted Thomson Thomson Thom- Thom son chairman Kent Thursby Dr William and County Agent Jack Herring have been meeting trying to form a group to direct the Sanpete Junior Jun Jun- for tor this summer In Ephraim Mr Thomson has agreed to head the show with Jackie Christensen taking over the secretarial reins If the theother theother theother other problems can be ironed out A meeting was to be held on We bJ daY April to tomake make a final check and see if it the show can be put on this year The group has made application for far their state funds which are received annually |
