Show Monday Funeral Pays Respects To O. O W. W Nielsen Funeral services were held on Monday Sept 18 at 1 pm p.m. in inthe inthe inthe the Ephraim West Ward for Oscar Oscar Oscar Os Os- car W. W Nielsen who died of natural natural natural nat nat- ural causes at his home Sept 15 Mr Nielsen was born at Shumway Shumway Shumway Shum- Shum way farm on October 18 1884 the youngest in a family of seven sons and two daughters His father Andrew C. C Nielsen was familiarly known as Mormon Preacher and his mother Mary MaryK K K Nielsen were among the pioneer pioneer pioneer pio pio- neer settlers of Sanpete Mr Nielsen's boyhood days were spent on the west farm He moved noved to town during the winter living at the home of his sister Dagmar to attend school Later the Nielsen family moved to town and he worked with his brothers Chris Toot and Lauritz Lauritz Lauritz Lau- Lau ritz on building contracts sidewalks sidewalks sidewalks side side- walks and stone masonry mainly on school buildings in Sanpete and Sevier Counties He next worked with his brother broth broth- er Otto a practicing dentist They not only worked in their Ephraim office above the Anderson Ander Ander- son Drug but they also traveled through Sanpete and Emery Counties doing dental work He married Caroline Marinda Olsen in the Manti Temple on January 7 1906 and they built their home on North Main St. St for their children Lora Nielsen Beal who passed away on Nov 21 1948 Barbara Nielsen Bosen who lives now in Springerville Arizona and Jack E. E Nielsen who resides in Roosevelt Utah His active years were filled with many interests His concern concern concern con con- cern for good farming practice found an outlet in his work with the Department of Agriculture He worked with the Utah State University Experiment farm inthe inthe in inthe the early days of the west swamps drainage and develop develop- ment He later worked as a project project project supervisor in on weed control and finally for the Agriculture Agriculture Agriculture Ag Ag- Administration as Field Supervisor Mr Nielson served for many years as a member of the Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim Library Board He was the theauthor theauthor theauthor author of the Country Columnist Columnist Columnist Colum Colum- articles which featured comments on local happenings for over 30 years Earlier in his life he served as editor of the Ephraim Enterprise Besides his is son and daughter he is survived by eight grandchildren grandchildren grandchildren grand grand- children and four great grand grand- children The Monday funeral services were conducted by Bishop Glendon Glendon Glendon Glen- Glen don K Stubbs as follows Family prayer at the home Samuel Roser Preliminary and Postlude Music Music Music Mu Mu- sic Harry A.
