Peterson last Saturday Saturday Saturday Sat Sat- July 15 at 1 pm p.m. in the Ward Chapel East North Provo Utah Mrs Peterson died Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday Wednes Wednes- day July at 5 pm p.m. at her home A prominent civic and church worker in Ephraim for many years Mrs Peterson and her husband Peter Canute Peterson had moved to o Provo several years ago He Hel died July 4 1966 Mrs Peterson was born in Provo Dec 30 1888 the daughter daugh daugh- ter of William S. S and Margaret Ann Gillespie Rawlings She married Mr Peterson June 5 1907 in the Salt Lake Tem Tem- Active in community affairs in Ephraim she was awarded the Christmas Candle annual honor accorded to the citizen contributing the most widely to the community She attended Brigham Young Academy in Provo She was active active active ac ac- ac- ac tive in music throughout her life as a performer music director and music teacher Especially active in the Church she directed the Ephraim Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim West Ward Choir for many years led the South Sanpete Stake Relief Society Singing Mothers and trained several male quartets Particularly interested in the young people she worked with the Girls program She received received received re re- re- re the Honorary Golden Gleaner Award She and her husband husband husband hus hus- band served as ordinance workers workers workers work work- ers in the Manti Mant Temple for several several several sev sev- eral years Survivors include the following following following follow follow- ing sons and daughters Mrs C. E Christensen a former neighbor Tribute Nan Osmond Grass Mrs Grass taught one year at Snow College Piano solo Prof LaVar Jenson Jenson Jenson Jen- Jen son who played his arrangement of Absent and Happy Days Gone By songs he had played to accompany Mrs Peterson when she sang Speaker Glen J J. J Nielson Katherine Hess Peterson a law in of Mrs Peterson Peterson Peterson Peter Peter- son played I Know That My Redeemer Liveth She was accompanied accompanied accompanied ac ac- ac- ac companied by Sarah Mabey Grow Speaker Asael H H. A Nielsen organized a quartet composed of three former former former for for- mer members of quartets that Mrs Peterson had trained La La- Var Isaacson Cannon Thomson and Mr Nielson The tenor was Gerald Ottley All members of the quartet are currently members members members mem mem- bers of the Tabernacle Choir The accompanist was Sarah Isaacson Dennison next door neighbor and former accompanist of Mrs P Peterson terson in Ephraim Benediction Clifton Curton N. N Ottosen Ottosen Ottosen Otto- Otto sen a son in The organ prelude and postlude postlude postlude post post- lude were played by Mrs Farrell Farrell Farrell Far- Far rell Liljenquist of Provo Bishop William H H. H Wilde of Ward conducted the services and gave brief remarks The family prayer was offered by Calvin W. W Rawlings Pallbearers were her sons C. C R. R Peterson P.
