THE LOCAL MINING MAR. KET at weeks end showed signs that it was awakening from the hot weather doldrums into which it settled listlessly early in August. Plus marks were scored generally by blue chip issues called at the Spokane Stock Exchange. BUNKER HILL jumped $1.50 to a three-yea- r high of $21.00 and CALLAHAN ZINC moved up 75c to $6.00. Buying was from the Eastern area and there were rumours that Bunker soon would make an important announce- ment. HECLA and LUCKY FRIDAY also appeared under accumulation. Locally, there seemed nothing to account for strength.
