April 19. 1955 4 V .in Mines ije Program Allied Uranium Mines, Inc., of Washington, D.C., with offices at 708 Newhouse Building, Salt Lake City, has announced plans to resume a large scale program of drilling and other exploration work on its properties following a period of moderate activity over the winter months. The company performed some drilling during the winter on Its Ucola and Pitchblend properties in Big Indian District and on its Sunlight claims in the San Rafael Swell, Utah. The Ucola claims are about a mile and a half southwest of Steens Mi Vida mine, and one of the three holes drilled to a depth of 1,000 feet was well mineralized as revealed by gamma ray log of the Empire Logging Company which casts a more favorable light on the whole district. Drilling on the Pitchblende claims, a mile and a half west of the Continental ore body, has revealed a definite channel and fault zone with very encouraging mineralized sands behind the old Serviceberry mine tunnels on the property from which high grade ore has been shipped in the past On its Sunlight claims in the San Rafael Swell two holes out of seven drilled behind a well mineralized outcrop and tunnel are reported to be in commercial grade ore forove r five feet Con- - tinued drifting toward these drill holes will commence early m May following several more drill holes to block out the ore trend. The company also has claims located on Monogram Mesa, Colorado, and three Utah State school sections near producing properties in Cottonwood Wash and in Montezuma Canyon in southeastern Utah. Interests are ' being acquired in additional properties less than a mile north of the Patino Tin and Four Comers producing mines near Greenriver, Utah, as well as a major working interests in a large block of claims adjacent to the Thornburg mine and joining Callahan Lead & Zinc properties . southeast of Gunnison, Ekins Bros Plan Uranium Boom Fills The Jail At Monticello FHA Homes In Moab First Unit Of 20 Be Ready June To 1 Construction of the first unit of a 126 homes, F.
