Whoever first said that had had experience. So each one of us ought to remembertThanksgiving Day as an occasion to express thankfulness for Our Fathers blessings to us in this favored land. Likewise God would bless all the world as He has America, if only its peoples would allow Him to do bo. That other lands are less favored is largely due to mans own "thanklessness, for their hearts have been filled with bitterness, envy, greed, hatreds, and war and distress stalks the earth as a result The lesson ought to come home to America. Here we live under the protection of our Constitution, inspired Father. Our flag Is the symbol of unity by an and faith. Every bounty of nature has been showered upon us. Great fertile fields, rich farms, orchards, and grass lands, with vast mountains filled with minerals, but more precious to us as natural water reservoirs are our heritage. Everything necessary to make life desirable. s kind providence has bestowed upon this nation. Cut as readily and as wantonly will America waste her birthright, as Europe is now doing, if this nation disregards Gods blessings by an attitude of thanklessness, which really is a lack of appreciation for what we have. The results of such an attitude are waste and destruction of our possessions, and an attempt to hoard up, and gather unto ourselves that which is designed for the use of all. We should remember that the Prodigal Son never came back to his own birthright until the urge came from within himself : I will arise and go unto my Father. America will never preserve her birthright and improve her bounteous possessions unless we likewise recognize the source of our blessings. " Hence it seems fitting to us that every Thanksgiving observance in this great land of freedom which is America should be preceeded by a of Christs Sermon on the Mount, at least this much of it: Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn; for they shall be Comforted. Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the GIFT Suggestions A BETTY ROSE COAT OK SLIT Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled; Blessed are the merciful ; for they shall obtain mercy. ' Blessed are the pure in heart ; for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers ; for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, ,when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad ; for great is your reward in heaven ; for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
