ROWAN Jr. Provo Stake President As we &iro:ich the. celebration of our Saviour's birth, we wish to express our greetings to the people of this community. There is, indeed, much to glsulden the heart and ample cause to praise the Lord in our beautiful Utah Valley home. Great is the contrast between our peaceful nation and the struggling nations of the old world. When we view the earth at large, we find at this time so much war, bloodshed, and crime that one might well hesitate to express the message of peace and goodwill toward men, which was brought to the earth by the Christ child two thousand years ago. Never, however, was there a time when the earth so much needed this cheerful message. Never lias man so needed peace, good will, and love. In the face of these tragic world conditions, we wish to express our gratitude to God that we can in very deed, feel the power and sweetness of his great message Peace And Good Will Toward Men. We extend an invitation to all people of Utah and Provo stakes to in the feeling of good win and friendship and unite in offering praise join and thanksgiving for the blessings of this festive season. May the spirit of the Christ child permeate the hearts of men everywhere, that hate, envy, and strife may cease, and that love, brotherhood, and peace may triumph. May we join in extending where we can, our help to the poor, sick, and needy of our community. Not only those who are in need of this worlds goods, but also those who are in need of our fellowship, love, understanding, and consideration. For we know that men may rely upon the promises of Jesus: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
