This will be the 36th year that it has been in affect. The theme is "Schools for a Strong America." The topics for the various days are: Sunday, November 11th, "Our Spiritual and National Heritage." Monday, November 12, Today's Education." President Dwight D. Eisenhower asked all citizens to fully participate in observance as evidence of appreciation to teachers and school officials for the fine work they are doing, as a tribute to the challenging role American education is playing in building a better and stronger nation in today's world of nations. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in Salt Lake City for Mrs. Josephine Streeper 74, who died Monday at U:05 a.m. in a Salt Lake rest home after a lingering illness. The former Garfield woman was born November 10, 1881, in Springville, a daughter of John W. and Mary Felshaw Streeper. She married William Haymond on June 1, 1901 in Springville. He died April 25, 1052. Mrs. Haymond was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, J. W. Haymond, Magna; Dr. W. V. Haymond, Long Beach, California and three grandchildren. Mrs. Haymond had lived in this area until the past several years n and and was a long-tim- e resident of Garfield. Together with her husband, who was a veteran employe of the Utah Copper Company, they had pio neered the local vicinity. Until stricken with her illness, Mrs. Haymond had been active in several groups. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. He was a member of the LDS Church. Mr. Brown married Mary Vivian Olsen on May 13, 1936, in Salt Lake City.
