Female earwigs lay their small pearly white eggs in masses of 20 to more than 50. Eggs arc laid in the fall and additional ones in spring. The female earwigs also survive the winter. The eggs arc deposited in the upper 2 to 3 inches uf soil. Earwigs can be controlled by extensive programs of spraying or dusting with chlordanc or DDT, or by means of a baiting program. The Weber, 805,000 AF, the Provo 402,000 AF., and the Sevier 271,000 AF. The Bear River on its lower reaches carries much salt and is n one of our most streams in the state. The catalpa and many other trees of this vicinity show much yellowing. The reason for these plant injuries are due to the fact that the Bear River water percolates through the sedimentary deposits of the Uintah mountains. Leaving Utah, we enter the Ma-la- d area of Idaho. In this vicinity we find many of the hearty and drought-resistin- g Black Locusts.
