The hall was wrecked and the Russian sympathizers fled from the vicinity. A boarder who departed 32 years ago without paying his bill, sent $100 to Mrs. W. V. Keller, at Palestine, Texas, in a letter postmarked Sonoita, Arizona, to pay for the same. No name was signed to the letter but we are of the opinion that the $100 was gratefully received for the erstwhile boarding house keeper had reached her eighty-eight- h A New Yorker who had a balance of $47330 was arrested for using a lead nickel at a subway turnstile. SUGAR HOUSE POST OFFICE State and Government Officials Aid in Ceremonies That will Start Construction Work; Post Office Band Provides Music Turning the first spadefuU of dirt to officially start the construction of the new Sugar House Post Office, fitting ceremonies were held at the site of the new building today at noon. N. D. Thatcher, president of the Sugar House Rotary club was the official "digger" in turn ing the dirt and he represented the organization that first took up the fight to secure the new building for the district Cecil A. Crockwell, of the Sugar House post and S. J. Nicholes, president of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce, arranged the program for the day. Short talks were made by Sen ator William H. King, Mayo John R-- Wallace, and Govemo Henry H. Blood, representing the federal, state and city govern ment, and by N. J. Hansen ano M. O. Ash ton, representing Sugar House business men and Dr. Ezra Waddoups and Mr. Nicholes, re presenting the Sugar House Lion's club and the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce. M. O. Ashton was master of ceremonies. Sam Nicholes, president of the Sugar House Chamber of Com merce, was the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Sugar House Rotary club Thursday noon and was interesting in his discussion of the people and customs of the Orient Mr. Nicholes, who spent ten years in Europe as an employee of the House of Rothschild, had many interesting experiences both in business and private life, learning customs of the people and finding out how to understand their businesa methods. Lawrence Thorstenburg, treas urer of the Rotary club, took charge of Thursday's meeting and announced the next week's meeting plans, which include a visit from the district governor, Lo renzo R. Crockwell, superintendent at the Sugar House post office, is back to work with a limp this week after being confined to his bed for a week as treatment for a fall from a ladder. Lindsey of 1948 South 11th East, who will celebrate his natal day on Saturday, December 9th. He has been a resident of Sugar House for the past 7 years. Harold successfully completed a four month course in pilot training at the local air port and in 1927 he received his private pilot license which he renewed in 1929. After that time he was not able to devote enough time to his hobby of "flying" so that further renewals on his original license were not possible. He was a stu dent at the University of Utah for 3 years in preparation for entering the law school. NOTES (Special to The Bulletin) Virginia Smith, of Draper, president of "J. D. L.," women's social organization on the University campus, is chairman of arrangements for the club's annual autumn formal dancing party which will be given Saturday night at the Newhouse Hotel in Salt Lake City. The Gold Room has been engaged for the occasion. Miss Smith is a Junior at the University and is studying dietetics.
