THE FAMILY coverage provided by a donation includes unlimited blood requirements by the military and civilian employee and spouse, their dependent children and the parents and grandparents of the donating employees and spouse. Blood derivatives are available in limited quantities (some at a nominal cost). Donated blood is transferred to the Red Cross Blood Center in Salt Lake City, where it is typed, processed and stored. For the next 21 days, any hospital in the state of Utah or approximately half of Nevada may call for the blood.
