Show Supply Division Serves Needs of All Everything from the usual to die iin.wial, the expected to the and the expensive. to the inexpensive can either by obtained or attributed to the Supply Division. This division, under the di- tection of Lamar Bowers, pro- vides the goods, merchandise, and supplies necessary for acti- at Dugway; whether it be office supplies or groceries the family. In addition, the com mis-ry receives, stores, protects, and issues supplies and ration distribution to the troop mess at DPC. In bringing the supplies to the individual, ' the Division issues merchandise from their dielves or their stock. If a needed item is not in stock, orders are then channeled through the Procurement Division. All stock-ag- e quantities on hand at the Division are determined by supboth past and ply demands present A complete history of supplies ordered are kept on permanent file with a mechanized computer control system. The massive Supply Division operation is divided into four branches: Property Book and Production Equipment Branch, Retail Sales Branch, Stock Management Branch, and the Storage Facilities Branch. Each one of these branches operates as an independent faction but nevertheless works closely with the other branches to assure better service to respective individuals. The Stock Management Branch supervised by Mrs. Kitsy Keech, is divided into two sections: ac- quisitions and inventory man- agements. The acquisitions sec- tion is responsible for compiling and evaluating supply effective- ness data. It provides administra- tive supervision over charge ac-count ordering officers, key- punches and verifies all supply transactions, initiates purchase requests and requisitions for stock- ed and fringe items, and main-self-servi- KEY PUNCH OPERATORS Fran Romero a) Johnston are two of the key punch operators for die Supply Division. Directed by Mr. Joe Hansen, the branch receives, inspects, and prepares receipt documentation for all items shipped to Dugway, issues stocked items directly to the Facili-divisio- y. requesting activity, plans the utilization of facilities for nre-f r" requirements, and packs, crates, and ships all items (including household sent goods) lteing from Dugway. In .drliHnn the branch also maintains a self- service supply center for all office supplies and other ex- pendable items. Thus, it is easy to see that the Supply Division does not deal with the ordinary. During a normal day the division re- reives everything from paper work to dry ice to pregnant mice, and in doing so, maU the division one of the most important for the exist ante and survival of DTC. The new rate, brought alxnit by the dramatic rise in the cost of food, will lie lietween $1.45 and $1.50, up from the present rate of $1.39. The new commuted ration pay hike will represent a double sort pay raise in a round-aboof way. This is due to the fact that subsistence was one of the factors which was calculated into the 8.1 percent pay hike passed in April. The commuted ration rate is based on the cost of raw food for one man for one day and has no relationship to the cost of ineals liecause it doesn't include preparation and serving. imVarious proposals to serof the circumstances prove vice" are under study by the Defense Department in accordance with the President's message of April 23 in which he expressed his desire to lower draft calls to zero. An adjustment in subsistence allowances is under consideration, but this would require Congressional approval because the pay law requires the basic pay raises to include additional amounts to take care of subsistence, quarters, and tax advantage. If Congress gave the Defense Secretary authority to make adjustments in basic pay andor allowances, there could be a more realistic subsistence E(KIfi8Y BUYER OVER EXCITING ECONOMY CARS AT GREATLY REDUCED PRICES SAVE FOR YEARS TO COME ALL BRAND NEW 1970 Dodge Dart STOCK MANAGEMENT Mrs. Kitsy Keech, Chief of the Stock Management Branch of Supply Division, supervises, examines, and compiles all data necessary for evaluating supply effectiveness.
