Kathleen (Kay) Conrad, 17, daughter of Mr & Mrs Stanley 1). Conrad, 5286 Cottonwood Lane, will leave on Aug. 16 by plane for New York where she will board ? boat and travel to Rotterdam, Holland. Once in Holland Miss Conrad, along with other AFS students from other parts of thc country attending foreign schools will spend two weeks in an AFS orientation school being briefed on the language of the country in which they will be living and some of the customs that are prevalent in that country, From Holland she will travel (0 Nouss, Germany, where she wil mit for thc first lime hcr fur tlm next ten 'family months. Miss Conrad will be living with the family of Dr Hans kuekhardt. Dr Koekhardt and his wife are both Orthopedic surgeons in Dusseldorf, Ger- many, six miles from Ncuss. Thc Kcckhardls have one daughter, Marie Louise, (Marlis) who will he attending school with Kay and helping to teach hcr the German way of life. Both girls will attend the same school which is called a girls gymnasium. Even though Kay is a year older than her German companion she wdl be one year behind in the school. Kay will be in the 9th year while Marlis will he in thc 10th.
