East Mill Creek County Ski Resident Has to Start Jan. 4 Salt Lake County Recreation Department is again sponsoring a beginners' ski school. A period has been sot up in The Neighbor area for the ski school as follows:. Thursday, Dec. 13 and 20, OlymEastwood pus Junior High, Elementary, Olympus High and Wasatch Junior High. A continuous registration will also be available to beginning skiers at the Salt Lake County Recreation Administration Building, 5177 S. State St. and at 245 South 10th East from Dec. 12 to Jan. 4. The ski school is held at Brighton with instruction being offered from 10 a.m. to 12 noon beginning Saturday, Jan. 5 and running for eight consecutive Saturdays. A registration fee of $1.50 is charged each beginner for the period. There is a portation fee of $1.50 for each round trip. Lunch may be purchased at the lodge or skiers may bring their own. Route 4 bus route is one in the Neighbor area. Youngsters may board a bus at Highland Drive and 33rd South at 8:40 a.in.. Highland Dr. and 42nd South, at 8:45 a.m.. Mr Jones also noted that while the hospital has requested an increase of $101,000 for 1963, the over-al- l Poor Funds is seeking an increase of $89,000. Four departments have requested less money for next year, according to Mr Jones. They are elections (from $175,-00- 0 to' $55,600,) county recorders office (from $190,079 to $176,465,) Class B roads (from $450,00 to $243,890) and highway improvement, roads and bridges (from $200,000 to $150,-947- .) 12, 1962 Zoning Problems Return To Cottonwood Mall 19 Tin1 a strain being put on the 1963 budget as Salt Lake County departments submit their requests for the coming year. So far the 1963 requests exceed the 1962 appropriations by $439,000. There are still several which have not departments submitted their budget requests. Leading the list of increased budget requests is roads and bridges, presently under the jurisdiction of outgoing Commission Chairman W. G. Larson. A request of $1,657,945 has been submitted, compared with an appropriation of $1,417,698 for 1962-a- n increase of $240,247. The major expense involved in the increase is a new mulch plant. The County Detention Home, in the department of Commissioner C. W.
