In either case, here are a few last minute quickies to add to the other d d y fixins. SPEEDY CRANBERRY RELISH 1 lb. fresh cranberries 4 apples, cored but not peeled 1 large orange, not peeled 3 cups of sugar Put the cranberries, apples and orange through the food chopper, stir in the sugar, mix well and store in the frig. Now isn't that easy and so good too. CRANBERRY-ORANG- Tie spices loosly in a cheesecloth bag. Add spices and brown sugar to cider. Bring slotvly to the boiling point. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove spice bag. Serve hot. 20 to 25 servings. Let the kids mess around with this treat. UNBAKED 1 pkg. 1 pkg. COOKIES chocolate bits caramel bits cup butter :,4 cup peanut butter Dump it all in the top of a double boiler and melt. Now, butler an 8 x 12 pyrex pan. Vi Place half of the melted stuff in the buttered pan. Top this with 2 cups of miniature marshmallows. Sprinkle with nuts. Pour over the rest of the melted goop and refrigerate. Put your own name to this one. r 2 cups turkey, cubed. Melt about 3 tbl. butter in a saucepan, stir in and saute gently until lightly browned. . Vi cup diced celery Vi cup thinly sliced onion 16 cup thinly sliced green pepper Sprinkle over the top of this 2 tbl. flour. Now stir in gradually 1 Vi cups chicken stock or dissolved chicken bouillon cubes. Remove from the stove and stir in 2 slightly beaten egg yolks and season to taste. Add the turkey cubes and stir over low heat just long enough for the sauce to thicken slightly. Place in one large or in individual casseroles. Sprinkle top with chives, parsley, nut meats or grated cheese. Serve at once with rice, noodles or toast. left-ove- E SALAD 1 1 pkg. cherry gelatin cup hot water m cup sugar 1 cup ground fresh cranberries 1 tbl. lemon juice 1 cup pineapple juice 1 orange, ground fine 1 cup drained crushed pineapple 1 cup chopped celery cup chopped pecans lettuce cup mayonaise Dissolve gelatin in hot water, add sugar, lemon juice and pineapple juice. Stir until dissolved. Chill until partially set, add remianing ingredients. Tour into individual molds and chill until firm. Unmold on a lettuce leaf and garnish with the mayonaise. The youths are being given a peek into the future and what be a career of their own as re searchers in the field of biologies! sciences. Students from Hillcrest, Jordan, Murray, Granite, Highland, Olympus, Granger, Cyprus, Skyline, East, West, South. Davis, Bountiful, and Clearfield High Schools are visiting Salt Lake City laboratories. Many of the research studies they will be seeing concerns the cardiovascular system and its ailments. The purpose of the tours is to interest the local science students in considering the research fieiu fur possible careers and to stimulate their interest in doing a Science Fair project in the biological field. Each group consists of approximately 12 students who have been selected by their teacher because they display special interests and aptitudes in the field of science. The youths are spending their time at the lalxiratories in intense listening, looking and learning with the local researchers. An annual project of Du; Utah Heart Association, the tours have received enthusiastic approval of the doctors, teachers and students participating in the program.
