The other picture was taken In the library at the prison. Many misconceptions of conditions at the prison prevail when we sit on the sidelines and criticise without having some Idea of what goes on down there. We all would hope that no person with good Intelligence would ever find himself placed In a position of restricted freedom. Yet, many of the near 600 Inmates, at times, were victims of circumstances, some of which were beyond their control. Following the dinner eight of these Inmates from mlmlmum security explained why they were there and what their hopes and asper-atlowere for the future. Each In his turn expressed hope for release within a few months, or two years at the most.
