Cox PUBLISHER Letters to the Editor pj 1 AM I I am veiy muoh disappointed in the Blending Clinic Board'd decision not to lsase our olinio to Ik. Fallon After talking to other Bluff citizens I am safe in saying that an ovorwhilmi majority of the people here are also disappointed We in Bluff are wondering if the Cllnlo Board has eonsidercT the fact that the population south of Blending has more than and that this makes us large tax tripled in the past - ten years payers in the county- with a very real interest in our clinic. Have they also given thought to the faot that, without medical service in Blandlng we will have to travel 50 to 75 miles, Where will me get against Blending 's 22 miles to get attention? a new 12 bed hos has Utah 'l understand a Doctor? To the people of the Lower Basin it seems unfair Indeed to permit any development upstream that would diminish the amount of Colorado River water available to them and their position if quite understandable. So is ours. j But whan water rights are determined It isn't idiether you're whether or nJt you are using the upstream or downstream but it's water. It is known that both Cottonwood and Recapture April 22, I960 BLANDING OUTLOOK oreeks oarry a heavy flow of water eaeh year that winds up In California. It is the oonsensus of loeal opinion that both streams have feasible damsltes whloh if developed would store large amounts of water that eould be used for culinary, irrigation, and industrial purposes in this area. The formation of the Blending Hater Users ' Association was for the sole purpose of promoting these dams. Although the faots are known, five will still get you ten that there won't be three dozen people at ftic meeting tomorrow night whieh after all is an ideal arrangement for California, all same boat Therefore I hope the olinio board whose responsibility is to of the ivople whom the olinio is to servo, will reconsider their action and make with a' Doctor. a special effort to find a "Thank you very much." Editor: unto others as you would have them do unto you" This is a very old proverb, and is oonaldered by most people to be s--a very wise one. But what about the execution of the prinolpl J on which this old and wise proverb is based? Well that depeiuw-- 1 upon who is to benefit from them, you are someone else. In the case of Dr. Walter W, Fallon the prlnolploa of the and wise proverb have been completely disregarded. old , When Dr, Fallon came to this comrunlty, it. was to our advantage, as we were In desperate need of a Doctor, and we were all glad to see him come to our aid. Dr, Fallon has served us well and we should be proud to have him as our Doctor and as a member of our community. Now what about that old proverb "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? Dr, Fallon has come to our aid, now it's our turn! What about the new clinic? Who will be in charge of it? Is for us, the citizens of Blandlng, to sit back and let a it small group of people tell us who is to be our Doctor? Is this freedon, the very thing we fight for? Is this the reason why we pay taxes? Is it because we are considered incapable of making our own decisions, and therefore must have someone else do it for us. No, this is not the answer, it is up to us, the citizens of Blending, to deoide who is to be responsible for preforming operations on our children, ourselves and our loved ones, I believe that Dr, Fallon has more than earned the right to head the cl into in which we are to go for our medical advice and treatment, and it is up to us, the citizens of this community to use our best Judgment in selecting a Doctor who is to serve all of us, and the only way this oan be done is to put it to a vote. This way the majority of the people will be able to go to the Doctor, in which they have the most oonfldenoe, rather than one selected by a minority group. Voting Is the praotlce followed in the free countries, and we do live in a free oountry, don't we?? "Do riit re- 100 PEOPLE FREE 50 HOURS Instructions Square-Dancin-g EVERY WEDNESDAY f w ? .s .
