Show Men Year Comments Stanley C. Mann May the New Year bring to each YR in the state of Utah the success that each one strives for. Our organization will be stronger and more effective in the coming months. Consequently each YR in the state is going to carry his own burden and do his job to the best of his ability. We can start this responsibility by good attendance at the coming county and state conventions. Robert O. YOUNG REPUBLICAN Friday, December 26, 1958 THE UTAH STATESMAN GOP Official Releases New Lincoln Book An elected Republican Ohio pubof a book lic official is to be released early next year on an incident in the life of Mrs. Abraham Lincoln. State Auditor James A. Rhodes, currently serving his second term and one of two top Republicans left in the Ohio State House, cos, authored the book with Dean a former U.S. Marine Corps officer and newspaper reporter. The Bobbs-Merri- ll Co., Inc., of York City, New' and Indianapolis has announced that it will release The Trial of Mary Todd Lincoln, to book stores Feb. 23, 1959. The firm also will release another book authored by Rhodes and Jauchius in April 1959. The second book, described by the publishers as the finest Civil War novel weve handled," is entitled Johnny Shiloh. Of The Trial of Mary Todd Lincoln, the publishers said: This short book of only about 200 pages carries a shocking and dramatic story of injustice and disregard of constitutional and human rights almost without parallel in connection with a person so eminent as the widow of a martyred Jau-chiu- ef ar sub-ject- s. Of The Trial of Mary Todd Lincoln, the publisher says: In May, 1875, a Cook County court in Chicago found Mary Todd Lincoln insane and committed her to a mental institution. The book brings out peculiar features of this trial and makes an overwhelming case that the trail was rigged and a committal a foregone conclusion.
