Statements from county Young Republican chairmen who worked with gusto during the past election are as conscious as anyone of the faults of the grim campaign struggle. Vahl Bodily, chairman of Salt Lake County, points to J. Bracken Lee as a thorn in the side of the Republican struggle but by no means the reason for a democratic victory. Ben Rawlings N Honored By Utah Republicans Ben Rawlins is the youngest man in the legislature. By his own words he first became acquainted with politics as a YR. He feels that he will be representing the young vote. His YR training gave him inspiration to follow through and become a part, a working part of his government He was most im pressed with the keen interest that young 'people have in politics anc feels that much should be done to cultivate that keen interest He said younger people should be allowed to participate in politics. By this participation they become indoctrinated with the desire to serve their country more effectively. He is interested in lowering the voting age, so that young people may actively participate. In his role in the legislature his main interests are taxation. Having served four years in the State Tax Commission. He is interested in amending the State Income Tax so that it is more consistent with the Federal Income Tax, where the result would be a benefit to the taxpayer. Also in simplifying the income tax procedure where it wouk be more understandable to the Tax payer. He is also interested in recting inequalities in the tax laws THE USE YOUR DINERS' CLUB CHARGE ACCOUNT TO SEND demo-swee- p. By Madge H. If labor can give as much as they choose then restrictions on every source of money should be lifted, Mr. Bodily concluded. From Weber County, Chairman Rex Cunningham commented on the November elections as a trend of the times. People were discontent and they didnt carewhether they were voting for a good . change or bad. They just wanted a change. To correct this swing, Mi-- . Cunning ham said that Republicans should have been working four months before elections and not at the hour. eleventh However, it seemed that people just cant be 8 DON Q UN far kSkssm plb.MiapM TUCHm KXnCH far SEASONAL TOASTS SEASONAL TOASTS Salute winter, spring, summer and fall by sending the most popular beverage of each season.
