Dick Richards, who Is a Young Republican worker, had to give up his county position and called the important meet. Elected to the post was Rex Cunningham. He is also a Young Republican and in business in Ogden. Mr. Richards and Mr. Cunningham have been busy dun ing the past month, reviewing the responsibilities of the county chairman's job. . The day designated far Mr. Cunningham to ofificiaflly take control of the Chairmanship is Aug. 15. Also at this time is the Weber Countys annual Steak Fry sponsored by the Young Republicans. Invited to attend this steak fry are the candidates who will be running for the county and. state offices. Also serving with Mr. Cunning- ham at the county level are Mrs. Afton Danials as vice chairwoman; and Eugene Showmaker who is first vicechakrman. Marge WahlquM is secretary and Eugene Nye is treasurer. Primary business for the convention was to elect a new chairman and no other business was discussed at that time. The Weber County Young Republicans are also working out plans for their school of Politics which is held each year. In April of 1966 he was duly elected State Chairman of the Utah YRs. In June of that year he attended the National Convention in Washington D.C. While he whs there he was elected one of the national vice chairmen thus bringing honor and distinction to the Utah YRS and to the State as a whole.
