Clyde has appointed the Salt Lake Junior Chamber of Commerce to assist lim in nominating candidates for the national awards of Young American Medals for Bravery and or Service, to be presented by Resident Dwight D. Eisenhower hrough the office of Attorney General. To be eligible for the Bravery award for 1956, the first year of ;he program, an applicant must 3e 18 years old or less, and must have exhibited exceptional courage, attended by extraordinary decision, presence of mind, and unusual swiftness of action, re: gardless of his or her own personal safety, in an effort to save or in saving the life of any person or persons in immediate danger. The Young American Medal for Services is awarded to a citizen 18 years old or less who has outstanding or unusual recognition for character and! service during the year 56. Character and service must have been public in nature, and must have been publicly acknowledged and prominently mentioned., by local press, radio or television facilities. Anyone knowing of worthy candidates is urged to contact the Salt Lake City Junior Chamber of Commerce, 207 South Main Street, at once, to receive full details on the requirements, since complete applications must be received by May 25. Co-Chairm- en Commerce Doings The Salt Lake Field Office of he U.S. Department was pleased ;o announce this week the of Mr. Jules Dreyfous, President of The Paris Co., to serve the Department of Commerce at the International Trades iair Program from June 9 to 23, at Poznan, Poland, behind the Iron Curtain. The program is designed to interest and assist more foreign businessmen in doing business with the United States. As a member of the trade mission, he will donate time to the government in the interest of promoting good will and increased trade relations between the U.S. and Poland. While in Poland. Mr. Dreyfous and other members of the 4 man trade mission will visit the principal business and commercial areas in most of that area. They will hold group meetings with local businessmen and make time available for private consultation on American methods. Mr. Dreyfous will represent the Department Store industry as a trade mission member and will be the first time a trade mission has been behind the Iron Curtain. Salt Lake City and the Commerce Department are proud that such an outstanding business man, such as Mr. Dreyfous, would consider this important assignment. - - - National Guard. TWO LAOIES?
