American citizens who have lived in two or more different eras of the Nations economy are beginning to blink their eyes and grin knowingly. Those who have observed the trend during the past six months are amazed at what is taking place, having become accustomed to the ' come-eas- y practices of a nation of people bound for inflation in a common effort to spend themselves rich. Barnyard beautification was also a topic of discussion at the meeting in the capital city. Officials were in favor of dropping the program until it was pointed out that the action would defeat one of the prime purposes of the show that of guiding the youngsters in taking proper care of their animals. The urge, which had been gathering momentum, could hardly be expected to be smothered too quickly. People on a spending spree do not welcome tight money over night. Rental Of Federal Grazing Lands Proposed By Dixon A plan for the Federal government to rent grazing land when cattle herds are reduced in the drought areas has unanimously passed the House Committee on Agriculture and is expected to be considered on the floor of the House this week, according to Representative Henry Aldous Dixon (R., Utah). The program, which would help 19 Utah counties affected by the drought, would provide funds to pay cattlemen to defer part or all of their grazing on private lands for a period of one to three years, states Rep. Dixon. Payments would not exceed the average value of the land and would be limited to $5,000 for any individual.
