SMALL DOG ADOPTS FOUR KITTENS HERE The First Security Bank system during th first nine mon.h of this year added 11,400 new deposit accounts, according to L. O. Larson, manager of t'le First Security Bank at Magna. Total deposits in First Sceuri'y banks increased by $22,605,852.90 over a y.ar ago. Mr. Larson explained that these figures were contained in a summary of First Security activities for 1957's first three quarters compil.d by head office. During the first three quarters of 1957, the First Secui ity system made a total of 88.428 loans aggregating $320,962,277.07. The totals included 34,833 loans for bus- intss, industrial and agricultural needs throughout the intermountain area totaling $205,533,715.99; another 1,964 real estate loans for the purchase and construction of homes totaling $18,452,444.89; and 51,626 Timeway installment loans for home repair, appliance and automobile purchases, and other personal needs. During the first nin? months of 1957, First Security banks have made 4,455 more loans, totaling approximately $20 million, than were made during the same period last year. This, we believe, indicates our desire to make every effort to meet all the legitimate credit demands of this fast growing area, said George S. Ecclcs, First Security president. These figures also indicate First Security's program of putting to work where needed in this intermountain region, the growing funds of our depositors. Thus, the taxpayers are afforded the opportunity of studying the assessors determinations and to make formal objection or application for a reviewing of the assessed valuations by the Commissioners, should any taxpayer feel that a discrepancy or unreasonable situation exists, prior to the preparation of the tax notices in the fall. After the time limit for making such protestations or applications has expired, tax notices are prepared and mailed, still from the assessor's same records, with the exception that if any corrections or revisions have been authorized, they will be reflected thereon and the notices will be issued from the corrected files. The County treasurer, of course, prepares and mails the tax notices." Hunter-Grang- er In addition to the revenue bonds, there are $400,000 in GO bonds. Construction started MonAy and the project will be completed in 300 days. The district received a $230,380 grant, according to word from Senator Arthur Watkins the money to be used for the sewer. - e a i ia i I |
