The clinic has two budgets; one which covers all care at the clinic itself and the other which includes all other care. This second budget is called Contract Care Money and covers lab tests, hospitalizations here and in Salt Lake, referrals to specialists and visits to the hospital at night and on weekends. The money is nearly gone from this budget so it is very important to use the remaining money wisely. When an Indian patient comes to the hospital after the clinic closes it costs $20.00 ($25.00 after 10:00 p.m.). Many people are coming for things which are not emergencies but are things which could wait until the clinic is open. In many cases, people come back to the hospital after hours for things they had already been seen for in the clinic earlier. The Honorable Judge John Sharp and the Blackfeet Tribal Court. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit had decided in that case that the Blackfeet Tribe in its Law & Order Code had relinquished jurisdiciton in the areas of marriage, divorce and adoption by deferring to state law in these areas. The appeal on behalf of Chief Judge Sharp and the Blackfeet Tribe will be filed shortly by Professor John T. McDermott of the University of Montana School of Law. Included in the 60 page booklet is information on a variety of Indian arts and crafts fairs, native dances, rodeos, religious observances, historical commemorations, Indian athletic events and other tourist attractions. Keeler paid a maximum fine of $1,000 following his Dec. 4, 1973 conviction of making an illegal contribution of $100,000 to Richard Nixons 1972 presidential campaign. In his tribal affairs, it has been reported that Keeler has lost over one million dollars of Cherokee money over the past year in a tribal enterprise. Sources indicate that the tribe will bail him out in exchange for his promise to not enter the next election for tribal chairman. Mr. Keeler could not be reached for comment. Federal Courts Sen.
