According to figures compiled by the Federal Reserve Bank, during first quarter 1977, $1.16 billion in loans were serviced by all Salt Lake City banks N'hat figure compared to $1.01 billion in fourth quarter 1976 and $985 million in first quarter 1976. . Among commercialindust-rial- , real estate and consumer installment laons, activity was brisk early this year. Real estate loan volume increased by 21.8 percent during the first quarter, showing $379 million compared to $311 million the previous quarter. Consumer installment loan volume jumped 21 percent during first quarter this year. Lenders reported $180 million in these loans, compared to $148 million the previous quarter. During the week ending April 2, the Weekly Unemployment rate was 5.4, down slightly from the official March 5.5 rate registered during the third week, and also lower than 5.7 registered during the week ending March 26.
