Having denounced the crown and saying what he did about, The government that governs best governs least, would have landed Jefferson in the slammer in no time with no questions of reasonable doubt weighing heavily on the conscience of his prosecutor. And so today with Assistant Attorney General Richard L- - Thornbergh I publicly condoning the practice: it. The truth is that all sorts of Americans live in ethnically homogeneous neighborhoods. Poles, Italians, Spanish, Jews, Chinese, etc., have been known to want to live together. Jimmy Carter said that he wouldt be for breaking them up. He also said that he would support any persons right to move into the neighborhood if they want. To begin with, Mr. Romneys statement was an improper use of the term brainwashed. Anyone captured in Korea could tell you that. But the big mistake that Gov. Romney made was not backing away from some reason, good old George kept using the what he said. term more and more. But Jimmy Carter is smarter. He apologized for using the term ethnic purity. The truth is that he had nothing to apologize for, but he did it anyway. Now thats a lesson Richard Nixon could have learned. So I wouldnt look for this slip of the tongue to trip Gov. Carter. As a matter of fact, Id put my money on him to go all Cheers, John Prince. A lot of people seem to believe that the f I: rT the way on the Democratic side. To have a real chance at that, he would want to have Ford I wonder who he will vote fori And then there is Hubert Humphrey. Havent we had enough of himl If I were a good Democrat, I would be mad as hell at the idea of someone getting my party's nomination without ever entering a primary. Beyond that, Humphrey is vulnerable. His health might be in question. He is one of the big spenders and he paid .10 cents on the dollar to a lot of people after the last election. Some people believe that it will end up with a Humphrey-Carte- r ticket. Once again I don't think so. I put my chips on Carter. And where do we look for the number two man on the ticketl The same state that we always look to And what do we findl A Catholic governor by the name of Brown. The most popular governor ever in that state. An man-n- ot a big spender. Perfect. A Carter-Brow- n ticket will be dynamite. It's as simple as that. When all the dust settles, the Democratic ticket will be Carter and Brown. A Baptist from Georgia and a Roman Catholic from California. They both sound like evangelists and God might well be on their side. first-Califor- nia. anti-establishm- V i k r Prince, Langheinrich, & Greer |
