Show October 1969 Livestock Specialist Appointed Dr. Norris Stenqulst has been appointed Utah State University extension livestock specialist to serve six northern Utah counties: Cache, Rich, Box Elder, Weber, Davis and Morgan. He will work with beef, sheep and swine producers of the area and their organizations to keep them informed of current useful research information and to relay to the university those livestock problems needing research study, according to Dr. William F. Farnsworth, USU district extension director for Northern Utah. Since graduating from USU with a bachelors degree In 1957 and receiving a masters degree (in 1958) In animal science, he has served as extension agent at Roosevelt working with the Indian people, and extension agent for Weber and Uintah counties. In 1968 he received a Ph. D. In animal science from Colorado State University. He is a member of the American Society of Animal Scientists and Alpho Gamma Rho, honor society.' Dr. Stenqulst did his dissertation work studying animal nutrition at Colorado under Dr. J. K. Matsushima, a top feedlot nutritionist in Western United States. He observes that . modern technology in feeding and other phases of livestock production is progressing very rapidly. Considerable training and effort Is required for a person to keep up with the latest developments.
