Show TEST RUN, Friday, October 6, 1967 Army To Make Studies WASHINGTON Should the Army Materiel Command, Chief of Engineer, and Surgeon General be given world-wid- e in its responsibilities for their missions? The Brown Board recent review of the Armys logistics system recommended that the Army look into the possibility of extending the functions of these three agencies into oversea areas.' The board was chaired by Lt. Gen. Frederic Brown, who was called back to active duty from retirement to conduct the review. AS A RESULT of the boards recommendations, the Army 'has launched two special studies into the AMC and engineering functions to determine whether any changes and modifications are needed in these two areas. Officials have decided to I back off on the medical study until a later date. There are too many other studies underway with higher priorities. Completion date for both the AMC Oversea and the Engineer study is some months away. THE AMC oversea study is under the staff supervision of the office of the deputy chief of staff for logistics.
