Show t : Winless Mustangs Drop 2 More Grid Tilts Grantsville Eleven Takes 27-- 0 Victory Mustangs Downed By North Summit The Dugway Mustangs were dealt their second league defeat Friday night as the North Summit half-tim- e Braves ran up a 24-lead and went on to down the Mustangs by a 366 score on the winners home field. THE VICTORS GOT their first score with three minutes gone in the opening quarter when tailback Dennis Pae skirted his own left end from the Mustang 24 yard line, climaxing a 68 yard drive on the opening kickoff. After the Mustangs failed to pick up a first down following the next kickoff, the winners scored their second touchdown of the game. Split end Bill Larson took a pass from quarterback Alan Simister which was good for 45 yards and the score. The winners tallied twice more in the second quarter behind the d running of Pace and fullback Fred Workman. Pace scored both touchdowns on runs of eight and six yards with Larson adding the point following the last TD. 6 1 Dugway Hill's Mustangs dropped their second straight football game of the season here on September 23 to Region Five rival Crantsville, 27-- but they showed sin improvement over their first game efforts. THE LOSS was the first in ; conference play for Coach Dick Rabens crew, as their first defeat at the hands of Wells, Nevafada (27-6- ) was a 0, non-leag- fair. Dugway Proving Ground, Friday Oct. 7, 1966 NORTH SUMMIT also picked up a safety when, with three min- utes left in the half, tackle Nor- man Crittenden broke through and dropped Mustang halfback Stan Sur in his own end zone. Pace, who racked up 24 points for the winners, got the Braves on the scoreboard again in the third quarter when he swept his own right end from the Mustang 33 yard line to mike it 33-0- . The Mustangs got their only score in the fourth quarter as Terry Foote, who racked up 111 yards on 20 carries, broke over his own right tackle from the winners' six yard line. During the 62, yard drive Foote toted the ball seven times for 47 of the yards. Virgil Johnsons kick for the extra point sailed wide of the mark. A PASS from quarterback Simister to end Ralph Jones earned the winners their final score from the Mustangs eight yard line with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. The winners topped the Mustangs by 204 to 109 yards on the ground and 103 to 25 through the air. They connected on five of ten passes; the losers were able to complete only two of eight, both from starting quarterback John Me Bride to split end Gene Me Clure. yj 111 yards again led the ball carriers, with freshMustang man James Jefferies helping out with 25 yards in three carries. Sur stood out in returning kicks as he returned three for a total of 60 yards. Footes DEFENSIVE standouts for the Mustangs were Clyde Rasmussen and Mike Donnelly, each credited with nine tackles, and Ken Bixby, before he was injured late in the third quarter.
