Show November 16, 1970 OMJ - Pape 3 Globe begins drilling on first offset to successful well Allyn W. Falls, president Globe , of negotiations Incorporated has announced the commencement of drilling of the first offset well of a two well drilling program in the Gusher Natural .Gas Field, Uinta Basin in eastern Utah. This is a follow up of a first successful well which was completed in the Uintah County field in the latter part of September 1970. Reservoir Engineers report estimates that this well, known as Monada State No. 1 , which was drilled to a total depth of 5,480 feet has a reserve of 4.42 billion cubic feet of gas from three zones. Falls also stated that Globe is now negotiating with a pipeline company Jo market this gas. It is anticipated that these will be completed.' within the next several weeks. Globe holds leases on approximately 4,000 acres on this gas prospect. Falls said that the drilling of the second well was started on November 3, 1970 which will be completed in approximately 25 days. A second offset well will be immediately begun which should be completed by year-iWillard Pfease Drilling Company of Grand Junction, Colorado has been awarded the drilling contract. n. CITY Brisco, president of Standard Oil Co. of New Jersey, said that oil company interests in the coal and uranium industries is increasing competion and creating vital new sources of energy, rather than creating monopoly situations. Speaking before the Economic Club of Oklahoma City, Brisco said: So far as my own company is concerned, we are actually trying to develop additional sources of supply in other fields to meet the demand.
