Evelyn is the daughter of the late Emil and Frieda Kachler. Dan is the son of Loretta McDougel, Butte, Mont., formerly of Richmond, and the late John Durney. A reception honoring the couple will be held that evening at the I0th-I9t- h Ward cultural hall, 790 North 5th East, from 7 to 9 p.m. Evelyn graduated from high school in Brooklyn, N.Y., and has attended Utah State University. She graduated from the Institute of Religion and is active in the LDS Church. She was among the first four in her ward to receive the Golden Gleaner award. Newton Ward Sacrament meeting was conducted by Bishop Max Christiansen. He presented Mike Benson to be ordained from a teacher to a priest in the Aaronic Priesthood. He presented Cora Cooleys name to be sustained as the Mothers Education leader in the night session of Relief Society, also Joy Jones and Bob Tribe were sustained as teachers in the returned missionary from Germany who spoke on Procrastination . and Smithfield Stake high councilman Stratford Locale, who spoke on Knowing and Studying the Scriptures, Family Preparedness and Our Obligation as Family Members. The Ward Choir presented the special musical number by singing We Gather Together." Daisy Larsen of Newton went by plane to Las Vegas, Nev., for her granddaughter, Pamela Eliasons wedding to Kevin Pickett which was held at the St. George Temple. Also Tracy Eliason and many other family members attended the temple in preparation for Tracys mission call to Brisbane, Australia. Daisy also went to Green River, Wyo., with LuDean and Wanda Balls where Wanda's and LuDeans daughter and her husband, Richard Hildred live. They all attended stake conference there where Richard and Susan were speakers as Richard is a convert to the church. After being ordained an elder after conference, he was privileged to bless and name their baby son Matthew in Fast and Testimony meeting at their ward. Several weeks ago Daisy and her daughter Wanda and her husband LuDean Balls and other family members all attended the Salt Lake Temple where Susan and Wi Would Like To Toko This Opportunity, In Extending Thanks, To The Good People Of dnrkston. Norma had Just returned home from the hospital after major surgery. Newton Study Group was held at the home of Elaine and Robert Jones with Wilma and LeRoy Cooley as hostess and host.
