Lyle is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Parley Welch, Smithfield. Char graduated from Utah State University with a degree in office administration. She is presently employed in Logan. Mont and Denise will be married Thursday in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The bridegrooms parents will host a wedding breakfast at the Hare Hollow in Salt Lake City following the wedding ceremony. In 1975 she participated with the Logan High School Orchestra on their tour of Europe. She recently returned from an extensive tour of Europe with the Sounds of Zion. Currently she is enrolled as a music major at USU. Mike is a graduate of Sky View High School where he was active in sports and student activities. He is a four-yeseminary graduate. He served as a nursery teachers. Penny Griffin Douglas was sustained as a Jr. Sunday School teacher and Janis Goodsell as Jr. S.S. secretary. The speaker for the meeting were Paul Manning from Smithfield recently returned missionary from Spain and Smithfield Stake High Councilman LeRoy Goodey. The special musical number was a vocal duet by Archie Jenkins and Jay Woodward. We wish to welcome Robert and Claudia Tribe and their four children Lani, 10, Kim 7, Steven 5, and Dale 3, into the Newton Ward. They moved into the home formerly owned by Nancy Petersen. They are from Smithfield. Robert is formerly from Ogden and Claudia (formerly Johnson) from Hyrum. Robert is employed at the Logan Thiokol Branch-Division. The Newton Ward Relief Society Homemaking Day was held on Tuesday with President Verla Summers conducting. In conjunction with the Health lesson, the Relief Society ladies were divided out in groups with each group demonstrating ways to assist or help someone in case of accidents away from professional medical help. This was very educational and worthwhile to all those in attendance. Mother and daughter day was held with 2 quilts being tied which had been pieced by workday director Joyce Payne. Keith Young, Young Ward, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jolynn, to Steven Fleming, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fleming, Richmond. Jolynn and Steve will be married Friday in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Those released were: President, Cleo Samuel, First Counselor, Mary Martin and Second Counselor, Ruth Johnson. The newly sustained President is Carolyn (Mrs. Steven) Fillmore. She was born in Brigham City. Carolyn has lived in Cornish for the past 5tfc years. She and her husband have four children, Teresa, Lorrie, Jeremy and Ryan. Previously Carolyn has served as Young Women's President, Sports Director for the Ward and Primary teacher. She enjoys refinishing furn- iture, sewing and square dancing as well as cooking. She loves sports also. reader and sports enthusiast, Mrs. Fisher has served in the Cornish Ward as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher. Her daughter, Georgia G undersen, lives in Dayton, Idaho, and the Fishers hpve a son, Brad, who also lives in Cornish. Ann and Vaughn have seven grandchildren. Marilyn Falslev Creech, born in Logan, attended Sky View High School. She and her husband Joseph were married in 1975 following his mission and have a small son, Earl, and a baby daughter, Mandy. Conrad Naegle, son of Reese and Erma Jean Naegle, recently spent 17 days on a Mexican study tour and vacation. Conrad was one of a group of young people from Sky View High School who made the trip, visiting Guaymas, such places Mazatlan, as fii j (EHD GERHARTiSTORESrCO Guad- Patzcuaro and Guamajuato. The group spent a week in Guadalajara, where they stayed with Mexican families in the city and took classes at the Cultural Institute there.
