On Friday, the Ray Pitcher family, Vai Pitcher, the Chris McKnight family, the Ralph Pitchers, the Verl Buxton family, the Ed Robinson family, and the Steve Fillmore family drove up for an evening of camping out. On Saturday, other ward families and members went up and enjoyed lunch with cantalope, watermelon and ice cream provided by the ward and a program chaired by Debbie and Brad Each auxiliary in the Me-Knig- ht QZBDtibfitefl (020 FISHER m oil r am 6M&X8 TIMANDJMONEY i Idaho. The group joined other wards at the Richmond Stake Center on Thursday mailing and boarded buses for Idaho Falls. They enjoyed sack lunches in Idaho Falls and arrived in Rexburg in the afternoon. The balance of the afternoon and evening was spent in getting settled and in activities and fellowshipping. On Friday workshops were held on topics of particular interest to youth such as dating, the importance of self image, etc. A banquet and testimony meet J 5 ing that evening was followed by a dance. On Saturday the wards competed in various activities. Cornish took second place in the morning session and third place in the afternoons obstacle course marathon. The delegates to the conference returned home Saturday afternoon. The Grant Simmons of Cornish recently enjoyed a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Anderson of Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Anderson is Mr. Simmons sister. Also visiting them for a few days were Mrs. Lynn Jensen (Mrs. Simmons sister) from New Plymouth, Idaho, and ,her daughter, Mary Lynn Hickman from Downey, Calif., with her three children, also spent a few days with the Simmons in Cornish. Bob Olsen, son of Mrs. Berl (June) Cook was recently honored at a party for his 21st birthday held at the Box Elder campgrounds. His immediate family and other relatives from Bountiful, West Jordan and the Salt Lake City area were in attendance. Bobs sister, Mrs. Jack Noyes of Perry and Mrs. Leonard De Lisis of West Jordan were hostesses of the party. A house warming for the former Joanne Whitfield, daughter of Mrs. Berl Code, and her husband, Leonard De Lisis, Jr., of West Jordan was recently held for the newlyweds by employees of Litton Industries. Joanne De Lisis works in the accounting department at Litton and LEARNS TACKLING Wade Buxton learns the tackling technique with Little League team member Travis Wood of the C team (70 Citizen Photo pound). Said election shall be held in the following consolidated election districts and the polling places within said districts as well as the election judges and the alternate election judges who have been appointed to conduct the election, are as follows: Saturday, Aug. 20 1:30 p.m. KSL-T- V Channal 5 11 ORDINANCE NO. 77-- 3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF REVISED ORDINANCES OF SMITHFIELD, UTAH AS ADOPTED AUGUST 1, 1977 12 Be it ordained by the City Councilmen of Smithfield, Utah that the following changes are made in Chapter 13 of the Code of Revised Ordinances of Smithfield, Utah above referred to, which changes are as follows: CHAPTER B. 13 LICENSE AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED 13-2- It is unlawful for any person to keep, harbor or maintain any dog six or more months old unless such dog has been registered and licensed in the manner herein provided. No dog license shall be issued by the municipality until the fee required herein is paid. Until otherwise changed by resolution of the governing body, the following fee shall be charged: 1. Each spayed female $ 3.00 $ 3.00 2. Each neutered male 3. Each unspayed female $10.00 4. Each unneutered male $3.00 Anyone owning, keeping, harboring, or maintaining three or more dogs over the age of six months shall be considered to be operating a dog kennel and shall be required to pay an annual kennel license fee of $25.00 per year. Any dog impounded as a licensed dog may be redeemed and taken from such pound by the owner or any authorized person, upon exhibiting to the supervisor or person having charge of said pound, a certificate Of showing that registry as provided in section the license imposed by this part has been paid for such dog and upon paying the person in charge of the pound an impounding fee of five dollars and the sum of fifty cents for each and every day such dog shall have been impounded. AH impounded dogs not redeemed with tlirre days shall be sold for the best price obtainable at either private or public sale, and all moneys received from such sales shall be paid daily to the treasurer. All dogs that are not sold or re-- . deemed in the required time shall be disposed of in a humane manner. 13-2- Lyle R. Aug. 2, 5 DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED AND INFECTED All impounded dogs not redeemed within three days of the date of impounding may be destroyed or sold to the person first making written request for purchase at such price as may be deemed agreeable. In the case of dogs severly injured or having contagious disease other than rabies and which in the poundmaster's judgment are suffering and recovery is doubtful, the poundmaster may destroy the dog without awaiting the three-da- y period. DOGS. In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists and that in the interest, welfare and safety of the inhabitants of the City, the same shall become effective following the date of publication. Dogs of licensing age shall mean any dog which has been weaned or attained the age of six months. 13-2- The voting at such election shall be by ballot, which ballots will be furnished by the Clerk of the Board of Education of Cache County School District to the judges of the election, to be by them furnished to the qualified voters. The polls at each polling place shall be opened at the hour of 7:00 oclock A.M. and will be kept open until and will be closed at the hour of 8:00 oclock P.M. There is to be no special registration of voters for such election and the official register of voters last made or revised shall constitute the register for such election, except that the County Clerk of Cache County will register at his office during regular office hours, except ten-da- y period immediately Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and except during the preceding the bond election, any person who oi the day of the election will be a qualified elector and will register such person as provided by law. The County Clerk will make available or will cause the registration agents to make available at each of the above described polling places a registration list or copy thereof listing all registered electors entitled to use such polling place. Absent-vote- r ballots may be obtained by any person otherwise eligible to vote at the special bond election but who, on the day of the election, expects to be temporarily absent from Cache County or disabled, by making application, within thirty (30) days next preceding the election, either in person or by mail at the office of the Clerk of the Board of Education at 20G3 N. 12th East, in Logan, Utah. Notice is further given that on September 8, 1977, that being a day not later than ten days after said election, the Board of Education will meet at its regular meeting place in Logan at 1:30 o'clock P.M. and canvass the returns and declare the results of said election.
