On Sunday Janet Buttars was released as the Beehive advisor and Kathy Ravsten sustained in her place; Allen Cottle released as Secretary in the A.P.Y.M- and Alan Goodey sustained as secretary and Allen Cottle was sustained on the service and Our Cook of the Week is Kennie Seamons of 54 North East, Hyde Park. She is married to Glenn E. Seamons and has been for 5th years. He is owner and operator of Seamons Automotive on the highway and Kennie keeps books for him. She was bom to Zetta and Russel Knowles, Logan and just recently lost her father. Kennie and Glenn are the parents of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. Russel who is married to Gail Anderson, has a daughter, Stephanie, 9 months. They live in SL Louis, Mo., where he is going to dental school. Helen and Dennis Griffith, Orange, Calif., and children, Diane, Denise, Darryl, Deborah and Dave flew to the Logan, Cache Airport to visit her father, Carl Clark in Smithfield for the Independence Day holiday. They were here four days. They came in their own plane. Dinner honoring the guests were at her brothers homes, Marilyn .and Ralph Clark, Smithfielfl, and Lucille and Gene Clark, Logan. They all enjoyed the parade in Lewiston and fireworks in Logan. Annette and Von Elcock and children, Dawnie, April, Emerson, and Matthew are moving to Twin Falls, Idaho in the near future. Mr. Elcock, who is employed at Moore Business Forms as an estimator is Sharman, a twin, is married to Julie Dela Mare. They have a daughter, Melissa, 2 months, and live in Logan. He is a student at USU, majoring in secondary education. Sherwin, twin, is married to Jane Copeland, and they have a son, Craig, 10 months. They live in Logan and he is employed by Millers of Utah. Taci, a daughter, is a freshman at USU and Lisa, who is in the eighth grade at North Cache Junior High School. Kennie is a high school graduate and has been a teacher in the Primary most of her life. She is now Relief Society president. The family loves to go camping and her hobbies are reading and she loves to cook. Her two daughters play the piano and Taci gives piano lessons. Class members are Tim Andrew, Suzette Godfrey, Jonathan Walker, Angela Chambers, Saralyn Griffen and Lcilani Ball. The children had made the puppets representing Bible characters. The Targetcer B class presented a program in song and poetry telling of the things they have learned this year in Primary. Class members arc Carl Andersen, Lizette Andrew. Rochelle Collie, Amy Williams, Curtis Andrew, Georgia Walker, and Pamela Griffen. Their teacher is Colleen Anderson. Fourth Ward under the bishopric held their ward July 24th party Saturday on the church grounds. There was a flag raising ceremony with a new flag and pole. A history of the flag was given. Ron flew to Toronto, Canada on business then he and Jill spent some time with his parents in Eden, Idaho, before returning to California. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wright who have made their home in Ohio lor the past 21 years have returned to their native Cache Valley to live. Mrs. Wright is the former Viola Gittins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gittins. A baby girl arrived on July 20 for Ned and Janet Morrison of Hyrum. The Morrisons have three other daughters and one son. They are Jeannette, Lori, Kathleena and Daniel. The newborn will be named Tamla. They were David Spackman, whose 12th birthday was Sunday, James Robinson, Gregory Baker and Mark Rawlings. Primary children of the Lewiston Second Ward presented a program with a bicentennial theme for their summer social. Mrs. Garvin is the former Ellen Rigby. The Garvins live at ML Vernon, Iowa, where he teaches geology at Cornell State College. A trip into the northwest and Canada was experienced by Mrs. Douglas (Ethelyn) Wheeler as she accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Joann Bohn and her twelve-year-oson, John, of Ogden on a 2800 mile trip. They drove to Caldwell, Idaho, where they stopped overnight with Mrs. Wheelers brother and his wife, Noel and Merleen Or-viFrom there they crossed over to the coastline and drove north to Port Angeles. They took the ferry to Victoria, B.C. where they saw points of interest and again they went by ferry to Vancouver. Their tour took them to Lake Louise and Banff then to Calgary where they saw the parade and attended the stampede. They drove ld n. through Glacier National Park and returned home by way of Idaho Falls. u |
