The group meets each two weeks at each others homes. Mrs. Louise Smith was visited by some of her family on Valentines Day. They were Ivie and Clyde R. Smith and family, Susan, Debbie, Sherry and Randy of Idaho Falls; Ida and Grant Fridal, Tremonton, and Robert Anderson and son of Richmond. It was a double birthday Mrs. Smiths birthday was Feb. 17 and Ivie's Feb. 12. A birthday dinner was served. Gifts opened and a social afternoon spent. A son, Ronald Smith, telephoned his mother on her birthday. A son, Leonard, also visited everyone. Kristine Edwards, 12, daughter of Norma and Norman ' Edwards, Smithfield, spent several days in the Logan hospital after receiving injuries when she slipped and fell beneath the rear dual wheels of a school bus at North Cache .Junior High School just after class. No. 2 by Miss Olsen is the daughter of Kathryn Olsen and she has been taking piano lessons from Professor Wasserman for several years. Mrs. Gwenda Howlett, Richmond, and Mary Benson Ward held their annual local Farm Bureau meeting on Friday evening, Feb. 20, at the ward cultural hall. Officers Wayne Cardon, Charles Reese, Cecil Archibald, Alice Cardon, Robert Hoffman and Shariene Rene were in charge, assisted by Lorna Archibald. Joyce Tar-bwas in charge of table ns and their three ' child- ren enjoyed a vacation in Arizona recently. They visited and spent one night in Las Vegas with Margaret and Paul Homer, then stayed several days with Bobs folks, Eleda and Grant Marshall in Mesa, Ariz. Shariene Cardon spent several days recently in St. George at the home of her folks. Sharen and Darrell Kunzler spent four days in San Francisco where they attended the wedding of Darrells niece. Lois and Roger Petersen spent a few days recently vacationing in Las Vegas, Nev. Peggy Sue John and Jed-di-e Ricks, who were married in a ceremony at the Logan .LDS Temple Friday, Feb. 27, were honored at a wedding reception that evening in the Portage Ward cultural hall. Peggy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John of Portage. She is a junior at Utah State University. Jed-di-e is the son of Hazel ami Joel Ricks. He recently returned home after serving a two-yemission for the LDS Church in the England tol Mission. After a short honeymoon, Peggy and Jed will make their home in Benson where Jed is employed. They are in the process of placing a mobile home on the corner by Darrell Kunzler's home. Scout leaders, DelRay Hobbs and Michael Falslev took a group of Benson scouts to Hardware Ranch Friday and Saturday of last week for their annual winter camp. Boys who participated were Brian Kunzler, Jeff Watterson, Bill Falslev, Scott Schenavar, Chris Call, Jed .Archibald, Brian Falslev, Shaun Stephenson, and Leland Smith. The Cub Scouts held their monthly pack meeting Wednesday evening in the form of a Pinewood Derby. Each boy entered in the race a wooden car which he had made. Winners of the race were Jeff Kunzler, Darren Falslev and Dennis Falslev. Cars which won recognition for best design were those of Jeff Call, Jeff Kunzler and Dennis Falslev. Other cacs in the race belonged to Eric Reese was assisted by Cash Smith. Cash's wife Vivienne was born in South Africa, and Cash and Vivienne spent almost a month visiting with relatives there last November. Cash told of some of their experiences and of the customs and culture of that country. The Relief Society, under the direction of Lenus Stephenson, is sponsoring an exercise class for the women of .the ward. It is held at the ward cultural hall each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. All women of the ward are invited and urged to attend and shape up." Barbara and Jim Watter- son and their children, Jeff, Paula, Jason and Amy spent four days in Beaver Dam, Ariz., visiting at the home of Barbara's parents, Virginia and Olean Barnett. Janice and Byron Shaver and little boy of Granger Smith, Steven Archibald, visited recently at the home of Janices parents, Nina and and Kevin Falslev; Also at the Pack meeting, Nolan Ballard. Toni and John Peterson Darren Falslev received acand their son, Richie, have tivity badges for Artist, Forrester, and Naturalist. He was nominated by the Electrical Engineering Department, and was chosen over the' nominees of the other three departments.
