On Friday, Oct. 31, a Hyde Park Bicentennial Halloween will be held at the Civic Center. The purpose of this celebration is to bring back the old fashioned Halloween activities. It will begin with hay rides from your home to the Gvic Center which will begin about 5:30. Finger foods will be sold at Tickets will be sold for 10 cents each. This first Bicentennial activity for Hyde Park is sponsored by the Viva La Friendship Club, whose president is Leah Gardner. Mrs. Gardner is also chairwoman for this event. Next month a Fall Festival for the city is planned with Mardean Lindbloom chairing that event. Come show Hyde Park your support and have a great old fashioned time.' The stake missionary fund raising dinner held in Hyde Park last Thursday was a huge success. The Seventies in charge helped the over 1200 people through the lines smoothly. Last chance to register to vote in our November 4 elections is on Tuesday, Oct. 28. If you arent registered now, please do. -- On Oct. 4, at a restaurant in Brigham Gty, Leslie and Gladys Han-ce- y celebrated their golden 50 wedding anniversary years together! Celebrating this special day with them were their two sons and wives, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Hancey of Logan, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hancey of Bountiful. The grandchildren were also present for this event: Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hancey of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bundrup of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bindrup of the festival. Included in the evenings fun will be a fish pond; costume judging contest, bobbing for apples, bean bag throw, dart toss, games for the kids, a cream pie eating contest (weight watchers beware) and an old time dance with a fiddler. OH YES! How could I forget? A Kissing Booth will also grace the festivities that night. Wonder if the kisser Club Holds Social by Leda Sutherland Newton Newtons Birthday Gub held their fall social at the Lofthouse dining room in Logan on Friday evening. Those who enjoyed this special occassion with dinner are visiting were: Arlene Rigby, Dody Jones, Peggy Salisbury, Janice Benson, Betty Goodsell, Sarah Goodsell, LaWana Larsen, Margene Anderson, Ileene Christensen, and Leda Sutherland. Those not able to go were Mardene Sorenson, Lois Jorgenson and Marva Richardson. The Newtons North Cache Chapter Homemaking club was held recently at the home of Nancy Petersen of Newton. Mildred Sutherland of Newton spent a week at Salt Lake City visiting with her daughter Lucille S. Miles and her husband Ned Miles, and with her grandson Alan Miles. Following her marriage to Mr. Burnham they went to Canada where they pioneered. They raised 10 children. After the death of her first husband she married Mr. Harker who is now 95 years of age.
