Show I Pair Announce On TheHome Front Temple Plans Jeniene Adamson By Mr. and Mrs. Robert Done, Smithficld, wish to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Marie to Jay H. Bair, son of Mr. and Mrs. Veldon Bairt Richmond. 'Clunk Yard' A new car added to a household brings pride to the drivers of the vehicle and usually ends an argument of who gets to and who can't have the car. Well, we just added a third car to our family. The first two consisted of the Jeep and a clunk given to us by a friend. The third car was purchased to "save the Jeep." Sounds like a slogan, doesn't it? Anyway, with Bob laboring in a neighboring town and along with my meager uses we were putting close to 300 miles on the poor thing" every week. According to Bob, "a four wheel drive Jeep was not made to go shopping. So we began searching for a second car. This occurred over two years ago so now you know Ive started at the beginning of my tale. Bob had an associate at work whose son's car had just been involved in a minor accident. Someone had backed into the front of the car leaving it with a dented radiator and blinded in one headlight. Bob immediately told him he'd pay him what he thought it was worth. This discussion went on for several weeks. Finally, after said associate returned from a three-wee- k trip to New York, Bob asked him again. Reaching into his pocket, Associate handed him the keys and said, Here, if you can get it home, you can have it. That night. Bob was three hours late and as I looked out the window I could see, as well as hear, the Jeep pulling something in the driveway. My first impression of the vehicle that was going to save "the poor Jeep" left something to be desired. I felt like wrapping the whole thing in bandages and wait for it to heal. Bob straightened out the front part of the frame in order to pull out the radiator. He brought the apparatus in the house, filled it with water and left it in the kitchen sink overnight to see if it leaked. The marriage will take place Friday in the Logan LDS Temple. Open house will be held that evening at the home of the brides parents, 240 North 3rd West, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to at state inspections, the Clunk" has run ever since. Which brings me to "Clunk II." Since "Clunk I has run so well Bob decided that we needed another car just like the first one so we wouldn't have to use the "poor Jeep" at all. Looking in Scene '75 we found what we wanted. We bought it and it, too, has been running well, FOOTNOTE: Our yard looks like a "clunk yard," but even though strangers hang on to the doors for dear life for fear of an early demise, we get the last laugh. Both cars average well over 20 miles per gallon.
