Martin is the son of Dean Abrams of Preston, Idaho. Debra Ann Abrams, wife of Martin, is originally from Salina, Utah. They are expecting their first child this June. Martin is an apprentice brick layer for his unde, Grant Norman, in Paradise. Both Martin and Debra Ann attended Utah State University in Logan. They both enjoy outside activities. They have two registered Holstein calves they are planning to enter in the Black and White show. Martin used to be employed by Norris Mickelson from Lewiston, and has seven register- DIANE JENKINS, Newton, carries on a family tradition by using favorite reciprs prepared her mother. Diane Jenkins of Newton picked up the art of cooking from her mother, so most of her recipes do come from a favorite family file. Married to Jerry Jenkins, they have three children, Machele, 8, Wendy, 4, and Ryan. 4 months. Jerry is a dairy farmer and 30 head of cattle keeps them both busy. Dianes extra time is spent sewing, playing the piano and, of course, cooking. One of their favorites is the Swiss Steak recipe listed below. SWISS STEAK Mix 1 teaspoon salt, Vt teaspoon pepper and l 3 cup flour. Pound into l1 pounds round steak, 1 inch thick. Brown in 2 tablespoons fat. Add s4 cup sliced onion and cup hot water. Cover, place over low heat and steam for l1 hours. Remove meat from pan, thicken juice for gravy. In the summer, we like to barbecue chicken on the brazier. Wash a whole fryer and clean good. Bowen are pleased to announce the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents. An open house in their honor will be held Friday at the Hyde Park Ward cultural hall, 60 East Center, from 7 to 9 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. No formal invitations are being sent. The family requests there be no gifts. In December 1974, Mr. and Mrs. Bowen began celebration of their anniversary with a trip to Madrid, Spain. The couple was married April 18, 1925, in Brigham City. Their vows were later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They have made their home in several of Cache Valleys towns, including Logan, River Heights, Mendon, where they lived for 21 years, and Hyde Park, where they currently reside. Relief Society president. Gwen is the wife of Norman Stockton of Hill Haven. Gwen replaces Gwelda Clay-so- David and Elaine Snyder have recently moved to Richmond South Ward where they bought Larsen's home on the hill. They came here from a three year stay in Logan. Prior to Logan they lived in New York State. The reason for their move, was a transfer with the Worlitzer Co. Mr. Snyder is an executive at the Logan office. Elaine is a medical secretary in the Professional Plaza in Logan. They were both born and raised just out David Jr., Scott, 9. 12, wedding in Mesa, Ariz. She stayed about 10 days for a visit with her daughter. Sidney Hatch Ramos and Mario Ramos are parents of a new baby boy. They will call the new baby Mario Jr. Sidney is the daughter of Clyde and Estella Hatch of Richmond. The Ramoses are now living in the basement apartment of Grace Funks house. n. Kelly, 10, and Tuesday's Relief SociJensen gave the Marco ety, family health lesson. They are busy doing quilts for their country store to be held in the fall. Marco Jensen and Dora Hendricks are teaching on the art of a mini-clas- s tatting. At Barbara Hill Welcomes Group Mrs. Barbara Hill, president of the Smithfield Club welcomed members Thursday evening at the home of Harriet Noble. Mel and Keith Meikle showed slides and spoke of their trip to Bolivia and Central South America. Light refreshments were served to 10 members and two guests, Mr. and Mrs. Meikle. The next meeting will be held May 13 at the home of Lula R. Mortensen. Ye-sha- organizations, including Primary, Mutual and Relief Society where she is currently a visiting teacher. She has been a Pink Lady at the Logan hospital. Their children are Robert W. Bowen, North Ogden; Fred D. Bowen, Mendon; Gary H. Bowen, Paradise; W. Clare Bowen, Smithfield; Michael D. Bowen, Ogden, and Mrs. Susan Bowen Kres-iLogan. They have 17 and two grandchildren e, Mr. Bowen spent his early years as an auto mechanic in Logan. Later on he was a cattle dealer in both Bear Lake and Cache Valley. They both enjoy bowling. In fact, they would be interested in joining a mixed doubles league this fall. Roger and Susan Stack, formerly of Southwestern Washington, have moved to Richmond North Ward in the old Spackman house. Roger is attending Utah State University, majoring in civil engineering. The Stacks spent two years in The Ernest Meyers have grandparents visiting them from Pennsylvania. The Meyers came to Richmond to work at Pepperidge Farm. Emma Bell recently attended her granddaughter's of Buffalo, New York. The Alaska. They centeied their Alaskan stay around Anchorage and the bush country. Mildred Cannon of Logan gave a book review, Sadie Shapiro's Knitting Book, by Robert Kimmel Smith. Mrs. Hogan assisted by her aunt. Myrtle Cooper, and a neice, Rhea, served a salad lunch to 12 members and the three guests, Mrs. Cannon, Mrs. Cooper and Rhea. WILLIAM C. BOWEN MR. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in 2 cups flour; mix well. Add softened yeast, mix well. Add remaining flour and mix in bowl. Flour bread board and turn dough out and knead until smooth and satiny. Place back in bowl (I use a tupperware bowl and place lid on and seal). Let raise until double. Punch down and let raise again until double. Separate dough into four loaves and knead each loaf and shape. Place in greased pans, rolling loaf until all sides are greased. Let raise until double. Bake in hot oven 400 degrees 15 minutes, 375 degrees 15 minutes, then turn oven off for 15 minutes. I like to add cup ground wheat flout that we grind from our wheat. My girls like me to make one loaf into Cinnamon Bread so I roll one loaf out as for hot rolls, spread with melted butter, 4 cup granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and sprinkle over batter. Roll up to make loaf and bake as usual. I also make scones and hot rolls from this recipe. Pair punch we enjoy that is very easy to make is 1 package lime Koolaid. Mix as directed on package. Add 1 large can pineapple-grapefru- it juice and Serve over ice. Wedding Vows 6 4 A p. Sift, then measure 2 cups flour, add baking in 1 tablespoon powder, sift three times. Dissolve soda cold water. Pour the cooked mixture into bowl. Add flour, soda mixture, beat the batter hard for several minutes. Bake in loaf or sheet pan in a slow oven, 325 if degrees, about 1 hour. Frost desired. The young couple has set April 21, for their wedding in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Parents of the groom will hold an open house for relatives and friends in Smithfield's Summit Park Golf Clubhouse that evening. The brides parents will honor the newlyweds at a reception and dance in Minneapolis April 26. Shortly thereafter Jill and Ted will fly to Bolivia where he will begin summer employment.
