Every holiday brings back memories of past occasions. Our family always made a big deal out of those special days. Even after the Easter Bunny stopped dropping his baskets full of goodies there was always a coconut covered cupcake waiting after a special meal. Back to the memories. I also come froqi a family of practical jokers. One year Easter Sunday landed right smack dab on April Fools Day. After the egg hunt was over and Mom was pushing hard boiled eggs down our throats so we wouldnt eat candy before breakfast, my five year old brother came upon a brainstorm. Since we had hauled our folks out of bed at the crack of dawn to see the festivities they decided to return to their chambers as soon as the last chocolate bunny had been found. This, therefore, sets the seme for my brothers dastardly deed. With a gleam in his eye he tiptoed over to the fridge and quietly removed a raw, white egg from the carton. We then retired to the basement to find a nice, dark red crayon. Upon obtaining one my brother colored the egg a magnificent red. We then returned to the scene. My father, in the meantime, had begun eating his breakfast in bed. Lying on his back, he would throw a decorated egg up to the ceiling, where upon impact the egg would crack. He then would proceed in peeling the egg, salting it and devouring it. My brother, brave as a bull in a daisy told our dad he had just found ' patch, another egg. He then held out the magnificent red, RAW egg to the unsuspecting victim. My father took the egg, threw it up to the ceiling . . . April Fools! Chryl was escorted by Rick Pitcher of Benson.
