JENSEN Jensens Receive A retired farmer and Cache County school bus driver for 33 years, Jenson has served many years in church capacities. He spent 21 years in the Swedish mission, was Logan Stake YMMIA president, and received his Master award in 1960. He was ward bishop for eight years, during which time the new College-Youn- g chapel was built; had served as bishops counselor, and recently was released as Logan Stake high councilman. Mrs. Jenson has served in M-M- Sunday School, Primary, YLMIA, and Relief Society, and currently is captain of the Charles 0. Dunn Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Mr. and Mrs. Jenson have four sons and 11 grandchild- ren. The Jensons are former residents of Smithfield. Their four children are Eldon M. Jenson and Edwin H. Jenson both of College Ward, Douglas M. Jenson, College Ward and Donald D. Jenson of Sunset. Mr. Jenson has two brothers who have both served as bishops, they are Merlin C. Jenson of Smithfield (he has also been on two missions) and Orvil Jenson, Amalga, who has served on a mission and was a member of the Smithfield Stake presidency under President Lyle Cooley. Mr. Jenson also has three sisters, Elvina Ranzenber-ger- s, Smithfield; Verda Heg-giClarkston, and Ludella Nielsen, Ogden, and they have and are still working in the church. -- Saturday evening. The Cub Scouts had a booth and demonstrated the art of rope making. Troop 18 demonstrated a food dryer which they had made out of a used refrigerator. There were many other booths depicting scouting skills and activities. Bertha Gittins Hosts Club Mrs. Bertha Gittens entertained her club, the Book LuRee Club of Smithfield at her home Thursday. President Wilda Plowman greeted everyone. Don Spackman is recuperating from surgery performed last week in the Logan Hospital. James Spackman was taken to the hospital last week to receive medical treatment. He was placed in intensive care for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grant and his mother, Mrs. Hedvig Bingham, went to Ogden to attend sacrament meeting and so Melvin could assist in blessing his granddaughter, who was blessed by her father, Richard Jones, and given the name of Rebecca Ellen Jones. Following the meeting, dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Jones. Family members present were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grant, Mrs. Bingham, Trenton; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Veloy Griffin and family all of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clive Waters. Mr. and Mrs. Leland T. Cottle attended a missionary farewell testimonial at Preston, Sunday honoring Kelly Coleman. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and children Clair, Marilyn and Melody went to Bountiful Sunday to assist in blessing their grandchild, John William Garner. Ila Litz presented a very spiritual lesson. Miss Amparo Garcia spent Sunday visiting the Leon Oswald family before returning to her home in Marido, Venezuela. The ward Sunday School presidency was released with those being President Myron Benson, First Counselor Darrell Goodsell and Second Counselor Lewis Sparks. Those sustained were Darrell Goodsell as president, Marlow Viehweg as first counselor and Larry Roundy as second counselor. Also a missionary farewell was held for Jeff Jorgenson who will be leaving March 15 for the LDS mission home. He is going to the Dallas, Texas mission. Keith Jenkins was special speaker for the meeting. A special musical number with five flutes played by Marsha Jenkins, Ann Sutherland, Cheryl Christiansen, Joyce Jenkins and Cindy Christiansen, accompanied by Andrea Benson.
