At last the day to which we have been looking forward with so much anticipation is almost here. Next Sunday, Nov. 10, we will be moving into our new church building at 600 East 120 South Street, Smithfield. It is indeed a beautiful building, both interior and exterior, and it will add much to our meetings there for the sacred worship of our Father in Heaven. The Smithfield stake presidency consists of Blaine B. Rich, president; Dennis Funk, first vice president and John Heggie, second vice president. Left-ove- r Serve over freshly cooked hot rice. 1 Refrigerator Rolls Combine in bowl: cup powdered non fat dry milk 1 cup lukewarm water 4 cup shortening cup sugar 13 tsp. salt 1 egg Add 2 cups flour and beat with rotary beater until smooth. Add 1 tablespoon dry active yeast dissolved in i cup warm water. Mix with rotary beater until smooth. Add enough more flour to make a soft dough. Knead lightly. Place in greased bowl, turn over once to grease top of dough. Cover and store in refrigerator at least 2 hours and not more than two days. When ready to bake, take from refrigerator and shape into rolls as desired. Let rise for about 2 hours and bake in 400 degree oven 12 minutes. Chocolate Dessert Melt together: 13 cup butter and 4 square unsweetened baking chocolate. Add 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cut 25 marshmallows in tiny pieces. Mix in 4 cup chopped nuts. Combine all ingredients, then fold in 2 stiffly beaten egg whites. Roll 12 graham crackers into fine crumbs and put half in bottom of buttered pan and then pour in dessert and top with remaining crumbs. Serve with whipped cream. Chill in refreigerator at least 6 hours before serving. Grandson Visits Connary Family meeting Sunday evening, where the eight-tw- o mem Susan and Robert Hurren and daughter Rebecca and Jenness and Sidney Hurren spent the weekend with Susan's parents, Dorene and Clayton Allen in Burley. They did some pheasant hunting. Nansi and Scott Nelson of 9 South Second West Street, Smithfield announce the arrival of a girl Oct. 29 at the Logan LDS Hospital. She weighed seven pounds three ounces and was 194 inches long. She has a sister, Deserae, 16 months. Also, grandparents, Janiece and Nick Nicholes and Carol and Bill Wann, Boulder City, Nev. Great- grandparents are Net and Ervin Knowles and David Nicholes,' Jr. all of Logan and Jane and Melroy Nelson, Richfield. The new baby will be named Danielle and her daddy is employed at Thiokol Chemical Corp., Logan Division. Smithfield Fourth Ward LDS Relief Society opening social was held Tuesday under the direction of President Roberta Geary. Jovce Cheal ottered the opening prayer. The Relief Society Chorus sang under the leadership of Lillian Tarbet. A program The Old and the New Relief Society, directed by Sadie Elder with Ila Erickson handling the lighting and with 12 members acting it out was very interesting and entertaining. President Geary thanked everyone for making the meeting the huge success it was. The luncheon table was decorated with homemade loaves of bread as center-piece- s and decorated with ribbon. Favors were mini loaves of bread and tiny bread boards with the slogan, Compassion is a loaf of bread shared with a neighbor, printed on it. Luncheon was served to a WED. with closing prayer by Alice Jeppesen. Lucy and Don Wilson and Patricia of Layton visited Verla and Edwin Noble Sun- day. Mrs. Noble served lunch. Lucy and Verla are sisters. New Residents Susan and Doug Kunz and daughter, Brandy Leigh, one year old, have moved into the basement apartment of the John Hansen home at 254 East First South Street, Smithfield. They came to us from Logan. Susan's parents are Mildred and Martin Friedli of Logan and Dougs are Erma and Lloyd Kunz of Smith-fielSusan also has a brother and sister-in-laliving in Smithfield. They are Marlene and Jody Friedli. Doug is a welder working in Soda Springs, Idaho. Mary Ann and Darrell d. w Roskelley and daughter, Jennifer have purchased and moved into their two bedroom home at 270 West Second South Street in Smithfield. They lived in their mobile home at 180 East First North Street which they sold to a college student. He moved it to Logan. Darrell's folks are Louella and Marlin Roskelley, Smithfield and Mary Ann's parents are Alice and Lund Pehrson, Smithfield. Darrell is employed at Del Monte Corporation. Evelene and Eldon Moody enjoyed visiting LaMont Smith and Wilda Allen in Pocatello Saturday. Baby Girl Lots of dark hair, olive complexion. The new baby is to be named Holly Christine and her daddy is an English instructor at Logan Senior High School. Grandmother Maida Anderson was expected Monday for a two week stay. Kell and Jerome Marilyn Thornley and Lisa and Scott have sold their home at 375 East 120 South Street and have moved into the John Hansen home at 254 East First South Street. Visiting Virginia and Dor-iu- s Hansen Saturday were their son and his wife Luann and John Hansen and daughter, Jennifer of Ogden. Lewis West is recuperating in the Logan LDS Hospital following a severe heart attack 10 days ago, reports thru SAT. NOV. bers of the Girls' Performing Glee Club under the leadership Stratford Loosle presented a beautiful program in .sung and speech. Four talks wen given and eight songs sung by the group, with a double mixed trio also presenting a number. Scott Ezo-l- a was given the Trail to the Priesthood Award. Wanda Andrew has been sustained as new Stake Laurel Leader. Michael Cottle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Cottle was accepted to become an Elder at the Stake conference Sunday. Cecil Payne and wife and son Cleston went to Salt Lake City Saturday, where Cecil was admitted to the hospital for heart surgery on Monday. He is recovering satisfactorily. his wife Delonc. We hope he is soon able to be home. Speedy recovery Lew. He has been in intensive care. Mr. West retired from Del Monte a month ago. and Richard Charlene Neilson and children Erin 13, Kelle 11, Erik 4, Andrew 24 and Kristen 4 months, have moved into their new home at 2266 North 1250 East in North Logan. They lived at 40 North Main in Smithfield. We hate to lose them but wish them the best. Mr. Neilson is employed as an engineer at Thiokol in Tremonton. Bette Kirk drove to Hacienda Heights, near Los Angeles, Calif, to help and visit her brother and sister-in-laKay and Sherman Smith. She helped her brother clean swimming pools and worked in his swimming pool shop putting out supplies. The three then drove to Walnut Creek and visited their parents Iola and Maur- ice Smith. Bette got to eat at some of her favorite restaurants as Pipers and Spengers in Berkeley. They all also went on a picnic to Felton near Santa Cruz after which they drove around sightseeing and took pictures. They enjoyed a turkey dinner Wednesday at the home of their parents which they all prepared. While it was cooking they rode BART under the bay. Bette says Spengers is a fish cafe and they catch their own fish out on the ocean by boat. Sunday in the Smithfield Sixth Ward Sacrament meeting the daughter of Mrs. Suzy Kirk McAffee of Logan was blessed by her grandfather Ken Kirk assisted by Bishop Donald Williams, Jeff Saxton, Doral Peskes, a grandfather, Ray Hyden, Darrell Wyatt, an uncle and Jerry Maughan. The baby was named Christey Lee. Dinner was served at the Kirk home to several family members. Mrs. McAffee is the daughter of Bette and Ken Kirk. Work Day D Leader, Homemaking Janet Rich announced Homemaking meeting will be held Nov. 13 in the Smithfield Sixth Ward at 10:00 a.m. Mushroom footstools and decorative throw pillows also smaller items will be made and a Homemaking lesson will be given. A nursery will be provided. Virginia and Dorius Hansen drove to Soda Springs, Idaho to help her brother Bud Woodall celebrate his 66th birthday Saturday. Others present were Mrs. Woodall (Nettie) also Virginia's brother and sister-in-la- Lucille and Henry Woodall of Twin Falls and her sister and husband Edith and Eugene Stacey also of Twin Falls, Idaho. Bud Woodall prepared supper. They all stayed over night and enjoyed breakfast Sunday before returning home. Michelle Saxton, daughter of Annette and Robert Saxton was confirmed a member of the LDS Church in the Sixth Ward Sacrament meeting by her father, Sunday. Fireside Attending the special fireside Sunday evening in the Logan Tabernacle from the Smithfield Sixth Ward were Faye Roskelley, Joan Campbell, Nora Richards and Vesta Hansen. Also, Beatrice Thornley from Smith-fiel- d Third Ward. The program was given by the Towne Singers, making it a very enjoyable evening for the large crowd that attended. Morris and Lawana A aler attended the funeral for his grandfather Carl George, of Roy, Utah last week. She is married to Alva Boman, Lewiston's postmaster, and she also works part-tim- e with him at the post office. The Bomans have four children, Lee and Coralee, both married, and Robert and Suzanne, still at home. Besides her post office Job, Bea is kept busy as the Relief Society president of the Lewiston First Ward and she also works part-tim- e as a bookkeeper at the Smithfield Implement store.
