KARREN serves up a piece of her favorite Couple Plans Friday Rites Hil-lya- Its not unusual for people in theses parts to be born and raised and live forever in one little town. And thats the way it is with Renee Karren. She lived as a child about three miles from her present home in Lewiston. Doesnt she want to travel? Well, years ago it seemed like a good idea to her, but now shes content to stay in the place that she has always known as home. Three of her five children are still living at home. Her two eldest sons are married and have made her a grandmother three times over. Her husband, Sid, is a farmer and every now and then she. is called into the fields to help. She enjoys playing the piano and organ in several church organizations, and also keeps a healthy garden. Renee is proud of this cherry pie recipe. Its a little bit out of the ordinary and makes an elegant dessert. 1 pkg. Lucky Whip (or cup whipping cream) teaspoon vanilla 2 teaspoon almond flavoring 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk 1 3 cup lemon juice Whip cream, add vanilla and almond flavoring, then add Eagle Brand milk. Add lemon juice last 4 Lemon : rjuice will make it go thick.) Put in baked cooled pie shell. Top with 1 can prepared cherry pie filling. (Strawberry or other fruit filling may be used.) For those who have not found a satisfactory pie crust recipe, try this Stir and Roll pie crust. 1 (Continued from page 2) Makes one double crust pie shell, or two single Mix flour and salt. Pour oil and milk into measuring cup (dont stir), mix with flour. Press into a ball. Cut into halves. Place each half between waxed paper (12 inches square). Roll out until circle reaches edge of paper. Peel off top paper. Place dough (paper side up) in 8 or 9 inch pie pan. Fit into pan. Roll top crust. Place over filling. Tuck edges under top crust, seal, snip four slits near center. Bake at 425 degrees about 40 minutes. Very good for single crust pies too. breakfast. Parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Don A. She was recently awarded the Phi Upsilon Omicron award for the outstanding freshman in the College of Family Life. Jed has fulfilled an LDS mission to the New England states.
