Steve Fillmore and Valden Pitcher, each performing with Fish and Game Report by Paul Woodbury A reminder that Sunday the 16th officially ends the 1973 goose season. With some of the open water areas just starting to freeze over, geese will start moving onto the Bear River a little later than usual. Having a stately honker within range is always a little of a tempting and exciting event, but one should curb his anxiety and just point the old blunderbus at ducks. Duck season runs through January 6, 1974. The pheasant season has ended and as most of us know there wasnt much to brag about as for numbers of birds. We anticipate that this winter with meat prices high and success during the hunts low, we possibly could have a large number of sore heads that will try and fill their freezer anyway. During the winter months the ring necks become a fairly easy target so we are asking that North Cache help us stem the additional harvest that could land-owne- rs come from out of .season shooting. People noticing any odd behavior or persons with guns in areas where birds are known to be wintering, are asked to contact authorities. Any information such as license plate numbers are very valuable when attempting to find violators after they have left the scene. It is suggested that calls be directed to the county sheriffs office who can contact conservation officers by radio. The annual winter TV hunter safety course will begin January 8, 1974 on KVED Channel 7. Registration is now being started for youngsters who want to take the course by TV. The program is broadcast every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. until May 21, 1974. Advance registration will be required for the course and can be made by sending name, birthdate, age, address, zip code and phone number along with the $lj registration fee to cover cost of student material and postage to lluntcr safety p"" (hfiO Kl KEY ) TV Utah Division of Wildlife Resources .1596 West North Temple Salt Lake City, Utah 84116 Registration closes Jan. 7, 1974.
