The activities, which the seven members take turns planning, center around bike riding. During a recent activity the girls hunted for treasure, riding their bikes from point to point as they followed the poetic clues. The treasure hunt map and clues were written by club member, Gail Grunig. Under the leadership of Mrs. 4-- H . 'Y " Jeanne Layne, the girls learn and observe safety rules while having fun with their bikes. Another summer activity still in the planning stages is a progressive dinner. Progress, of course, is by bike. Officers of the club are Cristie Heaps, president; Lorie Layne, vice president; Kristine Webb, secretary; Lisa Birch, treasurer; Gail Grunig, song leader; Cynthia Barker, reporter and Lori Ann Corbett, recreation chairman. Misses Mae and Virginia Hanson attended the Oriental Festival of the Japanese Christian Church recently in Salt Lake City. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Sunada of Logan. Misses Sadie Sorenson, Mae and Virginia Hanson and Mrs. Myrtha Westover of Lewiston were visitors Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verlan Leavitt in Cove. Fifty family members were present at the James Hoggan family reunion Saturday at Downata. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoggan and family, Idaho Falls, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanna and family, Torrance, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Bowcutt and family and Mr. and Mrs. J. Alvin Jensen and family, all of Ogden; and Mrs. ily spent a week visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dorrius at Hailey, Ida. Enroute home they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Nielsen of Lava Hot Springs, Ida., and Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Dorrius in Soda Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jacobs and two granddaughters of Vancouver, Wash., have been guests for a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Kendell. Recent guests at the Delbert Martin home have been Mrs. Charles Smith and granddaughter, Paula Smith of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Olsen of Afton, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Vergil Jensen of Fairview, Ida., and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Martin and family of North Logan. For fashionable reasons. Amalga Youth Named Huddle Club Head Paul Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hansen of Amalga, has been named president of the North Cache Chapter of the Big Blue Huddle Club, according to LaDell Andersen, the director of athletics at Utah State University. The Big Blue Huddle Club is a youth booster organization for students in the ninth grade and under. A Huddle Club member may purchase a season football ticket for $3.00 and the USU athletic department will refund $ .50 of that fee to any organization the member designates. Both boys and girls are eligible for membership. As president of the .North Cache Chapter, Hansen will have tickets available at his home. Huddle Club tickets are also available at Smithfield Implement. Hansen will also appoint Huddle Club chairmen in each of the cities in the area with students attending North Cache Junior High School and all elementary schools in the area. Several drawings will be held this fall for valuable prizes to Huddle Club members. On Oct. 6 during the halftime of the BYU game at USU a drawing will be held to pick a Huddle Club member who will travel to a football game with the Aggies.
