Smithfield and Newton residents, were honored Tuesday at a family dinner in given by their children commemoration of their golden wedding anniversary. The dinner was held at the home of the Barkers son, Lloyd, in Salt Lake City. Though now living in Hunter, the Barkers were both born and raised in Newton. For many years Mrs. Barker, the former Hazel Larsen, operated a beauty shop next door to her husband's barber shop on Smithfield's Main Street. The Barkers were married July 25. 1923 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of four children: Darwin, Mesa, Ariz.; Lloyd, Granger; Ronald, Hunter; and Mrs. Leon (Leone) White. Roy. The Barkers have 25 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Home for the Barkers is at 4293 South 4900 West, Hunter, where they have lived since their retirement. VON L. HANSEN AND SUSAN KINGHORN Richmond Mrs. Jennie West is happy over the birth of Julie Ann Tubbs, who was born July 7 to Mary Etta and Melvin Tubbs of Malad, Ida. Grandparents are Eva and Ned Bowen of Burley, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Moody attended the two hour Pioneer Parade in Pocatello Saturday and visited friends in Idaho. The summer ward party was held Saturday evening on the church grounds. The FTimary parade was very successful with prizes for best floats going to the Blazer B class led by Marilyn Clark, Merrie Miss A and B girls, led by Betty Condie and to the Targetcer girls, led by Mary Ann Wilson. Over 200 ward members enjoyed a pioneer style dinner, a program of group singing and pioneer stories and games and races. Skits, songs, stories and displays were presented by the ward Primary Lam & Gartbn Coder classes at their program last Thursday.
