After the third inning, Tarbet struck out ten batters and allowed only one hit. Vacation Visitors Arrive Margaret Hansen Bishop and Mrs. Harry Otte-so- n were visited recently by Mr. Player Of The Week and Mrs. David Skinner and their three children of Reading, Mass. Friday the Ottesons visited Etnas brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Law in Leading base stealer, fastest man of the team and top team hustler sums up shortstop, Dave Caudills position with the Smithfield Blue . Sox. all-sta- te player at Ogden High, Caudill played ball for Ricks College where he the team during his final season. They also attended the Morman Miracle Pageant in Manti. Neal and Gwenitha Jorgenson and family from Mesa, Ariz., visited Neal's parents, Maud and Heber Jorgenson this past week. The Jorgensons went with their son and family to Salt Lake City and visited the genealogy library and other points of interest. The Jorgensons were also visited on Friday by Daisy Mae and Marlowe Butler of Orem. Roger Manning received an Aaronic Priesthood Individual Award and was ordained to the Benson office of a Teacher by his father, John Manning Sunday evening. Valerie Johnson has had visitors in her home this past week. Her daughter and granddaughter, Dorothy and Linda Johnson have 1 visiting from Great Falls, Mont. Mary Ann Ander- son from far off Sweden has also been a house guest. Theron and Margaret Hansen were visited by friends from South San Francisco, Calif., and from Orem this week. Barbara and Ted Sage and their three children spent a couple of days at the Hansen home, as they spent their vacation visiting family and friends before returning to California. Marlowe and Daisy Mae Butler of Orem and their daughter, Laurie, were also visitors at the Hansens on Friday. Orr young marrieds softball team is still on the upswing after this weeks activities. Last 'Tuesday evening they played Newton beating them 7 after tying the game in the fifth and playing an extra inning. They also beat Clarkston 15-- 4 last Thursday evening. The Beehive team won by a forfeit and the Mia Maids lost by a forfeit to Sixth ward. The Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority held their annual summer social at the home of DeLone West. The group listened to a delightful musical program presented by Nancy Budge and Doreen Eskelson and enjoyed a delicious luncheon on the patio. Club members present were Roma Low, Selena Low, Sylvia Toolson, Devonna Rindlisbacher, Ruth Springs, Beverly Coleman, Joycelyn a Tarbet, Theoda Downs, Tool-soCunningham, Phyllis Erma Mather, Marjean Rindlisbacher, Mary Jean and DeLone West. Guests were Norma Gordon, Nancy Budge and Doreen Eskelson. 8-- Received Call To Australia By Alice Cardon Jeff Ballard, son of Mr. and Mrs. MelRoy Ballard, has accepted a call to the West Australia mission. He will leave Saturday for the mission home in Salt Lake City. Members of the Chere Ami club and their husbands enjoyed. a summer social last Thursday evening at Willow park in DAVE CAUDILL r Demonstrations Set For Logan The Alliance for the Visual Arts and Logan City will be sponsoring a Pioneer Day Festival in Central Park on July 24 from 2 to 8 p.m. Janet Osborne is coordinating the one day event that will feature homemade food and craft items, demonstrations, entertainment and art projects for children. Some of the specialty booths will sell sourdough starter, herbs and plants, hot sandwiches, bakery goods, watermelon, ice cream and balloons. Also for sale will be carmel corn, candied apples and boxes candies. A handicraft booth will include handmade ladybug aprons, bonnets, cowboy bibs and curlypig tails. The following local artists and craftsmen will be demonstrating their skills: Candy Anderson macrame; Sandra Bick-morweaving; Adrian Blau, glassblowing; Red Bradley, ceramics; A1 Carlson, jewelry; Joe Engle, leather work; Kent Peterson, wood sculpture; and Mr. and Mrs. Stone, photo- e, graphy. Other entertainment will continue throughout the day. Concluding the days program will be a childrens creative workshop production. The Pioneer Day Festival is designed as an afternoon of old fashioned fun for the entire family. Juniors Enjoy Canyon Trip Shirley Heaps, Autumn Saxton and Valerie Shaffer, members of the Junior American Legion Auxiliary of Smithfield, and their leader, Mrs. Marta Schuler and her son, Kevin, enjoyed several days at the George Washington Park in Parley's Canyon, near Salt Lake City. Mrs. Schulers parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Haag, are managers at the park. The girls toured the Veterans Hospital and hosted some of the veterans at a picnic in the park, sponsored by the Salt Lake City Elks. Other highlights of the trip included shopping and a visit to the Hogle Zoo. were Anna Logan. Mae Snow and Alice Cardon. Mrs. Larry (RoAnn) Falslev is recovering after surgery in the Logan LDS Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. George (Wanda) Pedersen and daughter of Salt Lake City were guests of their mother. Mrs. Leonora Petersen, over the weekend. air Lofthouse and Allan Cardon are spending two weeks at the Brigham Young University campus attending a Sports Adventure for Boys, where they are participating in training in basketball, baseball, football, swimming and other sports. Many of the families of the ward enjoyed an outing at Downala Hot Springs on Monday. They took picnic lunches, played games and went swimming. Boys chorus practices will be held each Wednesday evening at 7:30 at the ward chapel. Wayne Keese is the accompanist for the group. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rhine-ha- rt of Cheyenne, Wyo., were recent weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Jardine. They came to attend the funeral of Mr. Gale Skinner. Mabel Buttars, who has been teaching school for a number of years in Oakland, Calif., has now retired and has moved back to Clarkston to make her home. Mrs. Jayne Jardine spent a few days in Malad visiting her Mr. daughter and and Mrs. Paul L. Clark.
