Show CACHE CITIZEN THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15 1973 Smithfield 2nd Ward Smithfield Third Ward News Cornish Comings And Goings Third Ward Confirmations by Eileen Kump Feb 4th was a very special day for the Creel R. Hammond family as their oldest son was confirmed a member of the Church and their youngest son received his name and a father's blessing. Creel R. Hammond, Jr., who was baptized Friday by his father, was confirmed in Sunday services by his father. Assisting with the' confirmation were Wayne Hammond of Brigham City, Reed G. Hayes, Michael E. Paskett, Winn Peterson, and Theron Hansen and Ellis Jonas of the bishopric. The Hammonds new baby was named Jedediah Rae Hammond by his father, with the same men assisting. Three other young people were also confirmed members of the Church. Each had been baptized the preceeding Friday evening by their fathers. Kory Porter was confirmed by his father, Steven G. Porter, with his grandfather Nahum Porter, and two uncles; Terry Porter and David Lemmon, all of Theron Hansen and Ellis Jonas also assisted. Preston, assisting. by Maurene Buttars Misses Mae and Virginia Hanson, Carl and Byron Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pearce of Preston, spent the weekend in Salt Lake City as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chester While there they attended hockey and basketball games at the Salt Palace. On Sunday the Hanson, Pearce, and Simmonds families were guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Melcomian. Miss Eloise Godfrey, and friend, Miss Pam Fugal, BYU students, spent the weekend with Eloises parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Godfrey. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Barlow spent Friday and Saturday of last week in West Yellowstone snowmobiling and enjoying the scenery. . Mr. and Mrs. Aron Weese of Tremonton. visited with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Kendell on Monday. Mr. Harold E. Bergeson was honored on his 80th birthday recently at a dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. A1 Smith. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Verl Buxton and family, Mr. Bryan Smith of Providence, Mr. and Mrs. Brent Checketts and son of Hyde Park, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith and family of Bountiful and Mrs. Reba Bergeson and children.
