Races were run in three classes, with Class A trails 13 mites in tengilh, B Class trails five miles long, and a three mile stretch for C Class. Class A can use up to 12 dogs in a team, while Class B uses up to five, and Class C, three animals. These races are as beautiful as they are exciting, because the dogs are outstandiIn Class A, the first ngplace winner, (Bob Brtown of Bozeman, Mont., ran a team of nine Alaskan Huskies, and made record time with the d animals. John Rftam of Salt Lake City came in second with seven dogs, both Alaskan and Siberian Huskies. Third place winner, Dale Hoggan of Riverton, Ut., ran eight Siberian Huskies. Competition was very close on the Class A run. Winners in B Class competition were Herb Anderson of Richmond, Ut., running a mixed team of five bird dogs, first place; Larry Rogers of Murray, with la team of four White Samoyeds with a Red Siberian leader, second; third place went to Wayne Andersons team of four Alaskan and one Samoyed, driven by Dick Williams. Both men are row. from Preston. Class C heats were won by Lee Anderson, a youth from Richmond, first place with a team of three red Irish Setters. This team was only eight months old. Second place went to Lauren Sweet, a miss from Jackson, Wyo., running three Alaskan Huskies, and third to Jean Hawkins of Midvale, Ut., with all Alaskan Matenmutes. The chib wiH participate in races in Montana the first weekend of March.
