Show - STAN'S PRESTON'S MOST CONVENIENT SUPER MARKET . . . LETTUCE 1) golf. 15 PEPPERS city-sta- te forage SV INSTRUCTOR (Continued from page 1) For information concerning daily life in the early days of the settlement, Mr. Hansen is indebted to the early efforts of D. J. Nuttal, one of the early residents of the area, who kept a record of his and his neighbors' activities in a series of seven personal diaries. At the present time the diaries are owned by his daughter, Mrs. Media Nuttal Dunn now past 80, who lives in Salt Lake City. "I had quite a time convincing this fine lady that I was a trust worthy character," admits Mr. Hansen. "Once I did, I found the diaries to be a most valuable source of information." Today the interesting, conelse report belies the hours spent In pouring over records of the Spring Creek Irrigation Company, the files of the County Recorder's office, and, the accounts of small business ventures. What provides the incentive necessary to com plete such a project? John Hansen is the first to give credit to many among them Dr. George Ellsworth and Dr. MMton Abrams, both of Utah State University, as well as members of his family and community. "Besides, I kept finding such interesting information. I was surprised to learn," he said, "that settlers came to the area, established ELK HORN RANCH, and built a cabin in which the first child, Eliza Cache, was born during the winter of 1855 a year before the Peter Maughan group came to WellsviUe." No one was so surprised as John Hansen at the speed with which the copies of the first edition were exhausted. Asked if he would consider printing further copies, he replied, "I have already ordered an additional 50 cooies 'based upon orders to date." - PORK CHOPS FULL LOIN CUT 35c BACON i 2 LB.
