Keni Benson Eighth Ward Wins First Named To In Tourney Sconi Posi Preston Eighth ward volley ball team won first place in the Regional LDS Church Vol leyball Tournament held in Logan last week. They now compete in the Tourney to be held in Salt Lake City. They will r play their first game Friday! at 8 a.m. in the Deseret Gym. Mr. Benson assumed his new duties Monday. The Francis Peak District includes the Layton and Kaysville areas. Mr. Benson started in scouting in the Cache Valley Council in Preston. He earned his Eagle Scout badge with bronze palm and the silver explorer award. He has served as a scoutmaster and for the past three years he was explorer advisor for Explorer Post 231 or the Ogden 64th LDS ward. Mr. Benson graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor of science deHe regree in psychology. ceived a HOTC commission in the Air Force and served three years as a ballistic mis- sue officer. The new district executive will attend a professional training course at the Schiff Executive Institute in Bcrnardsville, N. J. He is scheduled to begin the course May 28.
